As of May 2025, The Hood is the primary villain of Ironheart.
Ironheart is an American television mini-series created by Chinaka Hodge that is centred on the Marvel character of the same name. The series reintroduces Riri Williams as she reverse engineers her own high-tech suit, influenced by Tony Stark's Iron Man suit. The character was introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Riri already finds herself on the radar of several major players as the show picks up after the film and follows her journey. The series is set to be the final television series and the end of Phase Five within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Warning: The following article contains spoilers for Ironheart and its primary villain.
Who is the villain in Ironheart?
As of May 2025, the primary villain of the Marvel mini-series Ironheart will be The Hood, a character from within the Marvel Comics universe with a mysterious and intriguing backstory. Before he became The Hood, Parker Robbins (portrayed by Anthony Ramos) was a normal high school dropout who was from Brooklyn, New York City, who became fascinated by super-powered individuals. That is after he witnesses Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, take on Maxwell Dillon, AKA Electro. Years later, Robbins becomes a thief and stays in that line of work to support his sick mother after the death of his father.
However, during a job set-up by his cousin John King, Robbins kills a demon supposedly named Nisanti, stealing their cloaked hoods and boots so he could sell them. But upon using them, he realises that the boots would allow him to fly and the hook would make him invisible while holding his breath. He eventually gets a mystical upgrade after interacting with Dormammu, ruler of the Dark Dimension, and is now able to teleport and raise the dead, amongst other powerful spells.
But all this is as per the comics, and it is unclear how Marvel has changed The Hood to fit the Ironheart mini-series. That will only be made clear once the series officially releases in June 2025.
Is Sacha Baron Cohen playing the main villain, Mephisto, in Ironheart?
Unfortunately, as of May 2025, there has been no confirmation as to what role Sacha Baron Cohen is playing in the Marvel mini-series Ironheart. Fan theories and rumours have indicated that it is likely that Cohen is playing the demon Mephisto. Deadline even named-dropped the demon; their report revealed that Cohen “is believed to be playing a comic book villain, probably Mephisto”.
