Gen V Season 2, Episode 6, "Cooking Lessons", ended where the fifth episode, "The Kids Are Not All Right", left off: Marie using her hemokinetic ability to resurrect her deceased sister, Annabeth, played by actress Keeya King. The episode drops another bomb on the viewer as it reveals that Annabeth also possesses some mild form of superpower.

We learn that Annabeth possesses mild pre-cognitive abilities, which is why she can detect Sam at the beginning of the episode. Moreover, her abilities may also work like Spider-Man's Spider-Sense, where the wall-crawler can sense an impending/potential danger in his vicinity. Actress Keeya King shared some interesting comments about her Gen V Season 2 character's powers in an interview with The Wrap last week, on October 8, 2025.

What did Gen V Season 2's Annabeth actress Keeya King say?

The Wrap interviewed actress Keeya King as soon as the sixth episode streamed on Prime Video. The actress delved deeper into episode six's revelations in regards to her character. She first revealed that Marie Moreau's younger sister is still trying to figure out her pre-cognitive abilities. Here's what the actress said:

“I think Annabeth is still figuring out her powers, so a key point is that she gets these visions. Sometimes they’re images, sometimes they’re voices and she doesn’t know when they show up. Sometimes they can be extremely painful, depending on what what it is. She’s learning she doesn’t even [know] how to control them. She’s just existing with them and trying to help her sister and her sister’s friends out.”

This is something that even the character says in the second act of Gen V Season 2 Episode 6.

According to King, Annabeth's powers serve as a metaphor for anxiety:

We see Annabeth for the first time in the opening act of season 1's first episode as a child. She witnesses the death of her parents at Marie's hands. After that, we see a grown Annabeth only in Gen V Season 2 Episode 5 "The Kids Are Not All Right". After revealing that Annabeth is still figuring out how to use her powers, Keeya King has an interesting parallel to her character's powers:

“Annabeth’s powers are a metaphor for anxiety. How we play with it [in the show] is you hear and/or see images of the future, but you don’t know how to fix it. You know something bad is going to happen, but you don’t know when, how or what you need to stop it. That kind of leaves you in a frozen state.”

After that, she went on to reveal how she auditioned for a role in Gen V Season 2 called "Rachel":

“We just got sides and the sides said, like, ‘Rachel’. I got the audition and went to work. I broke down the scene, asked myself questions, and I really understood what they wrote. I unfortunately could relate to a lot of the experiences. One of those scenes I got was a panic attack, and I get those. I know exactly what that’s like. I kind of put that all into the work and then sent off my tape. After hearing that I got the role I heard it was for Annabeth and I was like, ‘Holy f—k, where’s Rachel?’ I had no clue it was going to be Marie Moreau’s sister.”

As of now, the first six episodes of Gen V Season 2 are available on Prime Video. Catch them all before the penultimate episode streams today.
