What happens in Gen V Season 2 Episode 7?
This week's season 2 episode was 41 minutes long. In those 41 minutes, the episode contained several shocking revelations. Firstly, the episode confirms the identity of the burnt man. The characters were theorizing that it was Thomas Godolkin, and this episode confirms that it is indeed the founder of Godolkin University.
Once Marie heals Godolkin, we learn that the man whom we believed to be Dean "Cipher" was just a human vessel named Doug Brightbill, which is why he did not have Compound V in his bloodstream. But Doug himself seems to be innocent, as his body was under Godolkin's psychic control. Thus, it seems that Sister Sage and Thomas Godolkin have allied with each other for a mysterious plan, yet to be revealed.
There is a promo for the eighth episode of the season 2 finale:
You can catch the promo for the eighth episode, which, for now, is only available on Prime Video. That 33-second promo sees Sam, Marie, Jordan, and Emma trying to warn fellow Godolkin University students from attending a seminar presided by the previously believed dead founder. We get a small scene in the promo in which Godolkin controls one of the students to kill another, and then proceeds to do the same with another.
It seems that Thomas Godolkin is taking a page from the N*zi playbook and using Eugenics to eliminate the supes he sees as "weak". He even kills one of them in the closing minutes of the seventh episode as he takes control of the "clone" body of a "lesser supe" Hemple, to force the latter to kill himself.
"School is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it."
As of now, seven episodes of Gen V Season 2 are available for everyone. Catch them all before the finale streams next week on Prime Video.
