Ghosts Season 5 Episode 7 recap: Sam's plan backfires and Issac participates in a fight club

Ghosts Season 5 Episode 7 titled 'The Proposal,' aired on CBS on December 4. The latest episode was a hilarious mix of two plots: Eric's proposal to Bela and Issac's quest to find a rightful place among the basement dwellers.

Ghosts Season 5 Episode 7 begins with Bela announcing that Eric is likely proposing to her. Since she picked up on all the signs, like Eric influencing her to get her nails done and subtly asking her ring size, she thinks this might be it. To top it all off, Eric is flying to the Woodstone Mansion tomorrow. However, when Bela expresses her desire for a surprise proposal, Sam gets a clever idea (which was partly selfish, as she wanted to please Bela and be her maid of honour).

Elsewhere, Issac confides in Peter about his living conditions in the basement. The Continental Army officer was having a hard time adjusting with the basement ghosts, who slept while standing up and spent their day talking about the water heater gurgle. However, Issac decides to hold his ground to earn their vote in the upcoming Ghost elections.

Ghosts Season 5 Episode 7 recap: Sam meddles in Bela's proposal

Sam pulled some strings behind the scenes and convinced Eric to make a surprise proposal to Bela in Ghosts Season 5 Episode 7. While Bela was disappointed that Eric 'canceled' his trip, Sam rejoiced that her sister-in-law would finally get her dream proposal. However, Jay was afraid that Sam's plan was too risky and might mess things up between the couple.

However, Sam was adamant and went with the plan. Things took a hilarious turn in Ghosts Season 5 Episode 7 when Sass entered Bela's dream to express his condolences about the proposal. Bela was visibly upset about the whole matter and was having second thoughts about her relationship with Eric. One thing led to another and Bela hooked up with Sass in her dream. Since Sam and Jay did not know how to deal with his weird moral dilemma, they advised Bela to keep her dream to herself. Additionally, Sam also came clean about her plan and revealed that Eric is actually on his way to the Woodstone Mansion to propose to her.

While Sam, Jay and the ghosts were discussing the weirdness of Sass and Bela's hookup in the latter's dream, Eric made a surprise entry. Turns out Jay’s “dishwasher delivery” was actually Eric, who was already hiding inside the mansion and uncovering every detail about his girlfriend’s ghostly fling.

Ghosts Season 5 Episode 7 recap: Bela and Eric part ways

Eric was not having second thoughts about their relationship until he heard about Bela's weird fling with Sass. Eric was threatened by Bela's obsession with the ghosts and needed time to process things. In the meantime, Sass took charge once again and convinced Eric to give Bela a second chance by using his ghost power.

The next morning in Ghosts Season 5 Episode 7, came with even more chaos when Jay found Bela moping in Mahesh's kitchen. Bela was upset about the whole situation and feared that she would have to start over and find a new guy. Jay helped Bela realize that she might not love Eric and was waiting for the proposal to settle. The realization dawns upon Bela and she feels bad that she has to break up with Eric now.

But surprise, surprise! Eric was again hiding in a box in the kitchen and accidentally eavesdropped on the siblings' entire conversation. To make matters worse, his parents were there too, to support their son in his proposal. As the episode concludes, it is hinted that Eric and Bela will part ways now.

Ghosts Season 5 Episode 7 recap: Issac earns a place among the basement ghosts

Ghosts Season 5 Episode 7 featured a hilarious subplot involving Issac and the basement ghosts. Since Issac wants to earn votes in the upcoming Ghost representative elections against Flower, he has been trying to win over the basement ghosts. However, things get tricky for Issac when Nancy catches him sleeping on the couch in the mansion. To mend things, she suggests that Issac fight against the Trunk in their annual Fight Club and earn his rightful place in the basement.

However, Issac was no match for the majestic Trunk and he was battered on the floor in no time. Just when Issac gave up hope, Nancy revealed that the basement ghosts accept him as one of their own as he showed courage and stood strong against the Trunk, rightfully earning a place among the basement dwellers.
