Good Boy Episode 8 recap: Han-na and Dong-ju's love blossoms, Jong-hyeon feels uneasy

The timeline switches up to the present in Good Boy Episode 8, in which Dong-ju seems incredibly happy about his relationship with Han-na. He even spent a night at her house since Dong-ju has been suspended for a month and doesn't have a place to live.
However, their growing closeness doesn’t go unnoticed. Han-na’s ex-boyfriend, Jong-hyeon, grows visibly uneasy and awkwardly invites Dong-ju to stay with him instead. At Jong-hyeon's home, Dong-ju is given space to live inside the storage room, where he finds old photographs of Jong-hyeon and Han-na.
Not only this, Dong-ju also finds old newspaper cuttings that remind him of the time when Jong-hyeon was also an acclaimed Olympic champion. During one of his competitions, Jong-hyeon was hurt, which led to his downfall.
Dong-ju then also remembers that he previously slapped Jong-hyeon at the very spot where he was hurt. He then steps out and buys medication for Jong-hyeon's wounds, and this leads to a funny moment between the two teammates.

The team pulls a smart strategy in Good Boy Episode 8

The Special Crimes Unit finds itself temporarily sidelined, forced to work at a children’s workshop as punishment. But Dong-ju, ever resourceful, sweet-talks the commissioner with a massage and cuts his suspension down to thirty days.
Meanwhile, the team continues to target Ju-yeong’s drug operations. Their breakthrough comes from an unexpected place. Later in the Good Boy Episode 8, Man-sik gets bitten by a venomous ant found in one of the drug packages.
They turn this into an advantage by staging a pest outbreak at the port, allowing them to investigate containers under the guise of pest control officers. Disguised in hazmat suits, the team infiltrates the area and momentarily captures Kim Yeon-ha, or Drug Demon.
But she escapes in the chaos caused by her men. In the middle of this, Jong-hyeon suffers an allergic reaction to an ant bite, leading to a funny moment where Dong-ju slaps him to calm him down for treatment. Despite the mess, they recover a large stash of drugs, one of their biggest wins so far.
The team falls into Min Ju-yeong's plan in Good Boy Episode 8
Humiliated by the police's success, Ju-yeong retaliates brutally. He tortures the injured man (also Man-sik's insider), who Leo had previously captured, stabbing him in an existing wound, not to kill him, but to send a bloody message to the cops.
Dong-ju and Man-sik find the man, who leads them to a supposed escape route, but it’s actually a setup. Ju-yeong manipulates the police commissioner to pull riot officers away, making the drug transport vulnerable. The team is then ambushed inside the Jungdong Tunnel.
Each officer is thrown into a brutal one-on-one fight: Jae-hong battles the Russian mafia, Jong-hyeon faces off against Baek, Han-na fights armed attackers, and Man-shk shields Dong-ju from blows. Good Boy Episode 8 ends with Dong-ju chasing a mystery man on a motorbike, as the rest of the team is left fighting for survival.
