There's trouble in paradise...literally. As we saw on Hazbin Hotel Season 2, the Queen of Hell herself, Lilith, has taken up residence in Heaven. While Charlie and Lucifer are juggling the chaos below, Lilith is sipping celestial tea among angels and leafy backdrops! Amazon Prime Video's musical series has returned, and it's already stirring drama.

Fans of Vivienne "Vivziepop" Medrano's R-rated animated world will know that Lilith has been MIA for seven whole years. But this episode finally offers a glimpse and a thousand questions. When we catch up with her, Lilith is in some place that looks a lot like the Garden of Eden as she ignores calls from her daughter, Charlie, and her husband, Lucifer.

A text pops up from Lute:

"You're off the hook for now, b----."

But why on earth (or in Heaven) would the Queen of Hell (ruler of sinners, mother to the princess of redemption) be lounging in Heaven's penthouse suite?

Fans have theories, so read on!

Hazbin Hotel Season 2 Episode 2 fan theory #1 says Lilith is on a secret mission from Hell

One of the most convincing fan theories is that Lilith's hideout is about strategy. With the war between Heaven and Hell having just simmered down, Lilith might be playing a longer game. In Episode 2, Sera drops a hint that there may be some "arrangement" keeping Lilith in Heaven.

Could she be brokering peace? Or cutting a deal that could go on to tip the scales on Hazbin Hotel once more?

Fans speculated that Lilith could be infiltrating Heaven under the guise of refuge to negotiate with higher powers to secure Hell's stability or redemption for herself at the very least. After all, Hazbin Hotel thrives on morally grey characters. What's more ironic than Hell's Queen pulling strings behind the scenes? If this theory holds water (or holy wine), Lilith might be the ultimate double agent.

Theory #2 is about the Adam connection

Of course, Hazbin Hotel wouldn't be Hazbin Hotel without some spicy lore. Another theory that's been spreading involves Adam. Yes, we are talking about the first man, former angelic commander, and Season 1's exorcist.

There are a few breadcrumbs like Sera's cryptic mention of a "deal" between Lilith and Adam, and Lute's tease that Lilith was "up there" for a reason.

Some fans suggest Lilith and Adam's connection may be even romantic. The theory that Charlie Morningstar could actually be the spawn of Lilith and Adam! Is that too much? Vivziepop has danced around questions about Charlie's parentage, and never quite confirmed that Lucifer is her father, either, though.

On the other hand, sme fans think Lilith simply ghosted Hell.

Maybe she's tired of running things, being a mother, and dealing with Lucifer on Hazbin Hotel. Escaping to Heaven might just be her version of booking an overdue spa retreat. She's ignoring calls, lounging in paradise, and letting everyone else handle the mess. Relatable, really.
