The Chair Company: HBO comedy series debuts with a strong Rotten Tomatoes score

The premiere episode of The Chair Company features the central story, i.e., Ron Tronsper's humiliating incident. After giving a speech, before beginning the mall project he is leading as Project Manager, Ron comes back to sit on his chair, but the chair collapses, and this embarrassing moment sets Ron on a mission to investigate a conspiracy surrounding the manufacturer of the furniture piece.

Since he is not someone who can forget about any kind of humiliation, he looks for the company name and calls the customer care to complain about their product. However, he does not get a satisfactory response and begins looking for the address of the company, and when he visits the location, he finds nothing but an almost abandoned factory, which begins his investigation into the company.

The narrative will remind many viewers of Robinson's other popular sketch comedy series, I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson. Like the Comedy Central show, the latest series also depicts how the characters are incapable of letting anything go and entangle themselves more in humiliating situations.

However, this drive of the characters attempting to rationalize these moments brings out the originality of the comedy series. The unease factor and absurdity of the show make it a unique experience for the viewers. Therefore, it is not a surprise that The Chair Company impresses its viewers, critics, and even got the perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Until now, the HBO comedy thriller has 21 reviews that make up its perfect scores on Rotten Tomatoes. Furthermore, apart from putting his signature cringe comedy, The Chair Company also has other elements of thriller and mystery that add to the brilliance of the show.

While it is described as one of the best comedy shows of the year due to its original storyline, the performances of the actors are another reason the show is thriving. Other than Robinson, the performance of Joseph Tudisco as Mike Santini was praised by many critics.

The latest HBO comedy thriller series also stars Lake Bell, Jim Downey, Sophia Lillis, and Lou Diamond Phillips. New episodes of the series will drop every Sunday until November 30, 2025, on HBO and HBO Max.
