David's journey from a humble shepherd to the future king of Israel has resumed with House of David Season 2. Prime Video's biblical historical series gained positive reviews and became the most-streamed show in the US, with its Season 1 premiere back in February 2025. To celebrate the show's success and invest in more family-friendly stories of hope and love, the platform has launched Wonder Project as the official destination for David's second adventure.

House of David Season 2 Episode 3: Release and streaming details

House of David Season 2 Episode 3 will premiere on Wonder Project on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 12 a.m. PT/3 a.m. ET. The sophomore season will continue to premiere weekly episodes every Sunday, with the finale (Episode 8) on November 16.

Unlike House of David Season 1, the second season will premiere exclusively on Wonder Project, a new subscription channel on Prime Video. The service can be accessed with an additional cost of $8.99/month to your Prime Video subscription. Since Season 2 is exclusively streaming on Wonder Project, Prime subscribers will have to wait a bit longer to stream new episodes. The official date has not been announced yet.

House of David Season 2 premiere: Saul welcomes David

The House of David Season 2 premiere was an exciting hour, which foreshadowed King Saul's fall after he rejected Samuel and welcomed David as his son-in-law and commander. Fearing Samuel's prophecy, Saul had him taken away and tortured by his men but the Prophet managed to escape anyway. On the battlefield, as the Israelite and Philistine armies charged against each other, Jonathan recognized David's inexperienced fighting style and ran to protect him. While he asked Eliab to take David away, the giant-slayer continued to fight and finally saved Saul from King Achish, thanks to his sling.

This brave act earned David an impressive welcome into the House of Saul in Episode 2. Saul announces in Gibeah that David is now his commander and presents him with a red cloak. While Ahinoam is fearful that they should let David prove his worth a bit more before marrying one of their daughters to him, Saul assures him of the boy's worthiness. While Mychal awaits her father to announce her betrothal to David, he makes a shocking decision and instead offers Mirab's hand in marriage to him.

While Saul has welcomed David into his house for now and offered him Mirab's hand in marriage, he still has many enemies in Gibeah who do not trust in his worth.

House of David Season 2 Episode 3 will see David's journey as he learns what it takes to become a true leader. Saul's shocking decision will likely have consequences for his future with Mychal, who was planning on marrying the young shepherd.
