American Idol Season 23 finalist John Foster visited his hometown of Louisiana on May 14, 2025. During his visit, he went to his high school, Brusly High School, where the town welcomed and cheered the finalist.
While at his high school, John Foster addressed students and teachers, where he shared his gratitude. He also told the current students not to take anything for granted and how fortunate they all were to be there.
During his speech from the football field, American Idol finalist John Foster opened up about the importance of teachers. He added that his achievements and the reason behind reaching such a stage in his life were his teachers.
"Y'all are so very fortunate, and I hope each and every one of you knows the power that you hold and the power that these people will pull out of you. I don't want you to ever doubt the importance and the care these teachers have for y'all. I am right here because of them."
American Idol Season 23: John Foster on his visit to his hometown ahead of the finale
Before the upcoming American Idol Season 23 finale, one of the finalists, John Foster, visited his hometown. During his visit, he went to his high school. A huge number of people, including his school's students, teachers, and locals, welcomed John.
For the fans who might not know, John graduated from Brusly High School. He was also the co-valedictorian during his graduation ceremony. One of his former teachers, Sarah Guillory, in her May 14, 2025, interview with WGNO said:
"He (John) was an amazing student. He got straight A's, and was Valedictorian. I think the secret to his success is he's very hard working."
The English teacher added that John is a good listener and that he pays attention to things. She mentioned how John welcomes feedback and uses ot to improve himself and grow.
Further in his speech at his former high school, American Idol Season 23's John Foster said:
"Many accolades I would say over the past couple of years you know uh, most namely we're celebrating top three of American Idol you know, I think that's pretty cool and you know to be validictorian and whatnot but I tell you what, one of the best accolades I've ever gotten is these three wonderful teachers saying such beautiful things about me. So thank y'all so much."
He mentioned his teachers and said that every single teacher there was one of the "best" Brusly had had.
John Foster's American Idol Season 23 journey continues towards the finale. He will soon be seen competing against finalists Breanna Nix and Jamal Roberts.
