When 3Quency, a trio made up of Wennely Quezada, Brianna Mazzola, and Nori Moore (also known as Nori Royale), stepped into Building the Band, their chemistry, charm, and pure talent captured the audience's hearts. The three formed a lasting creative partnership after being selected through blind auditions where vocalists only used their voices. They went on to win the first season and the $500,000 grand prize.

However, their journey involved more than just performances and evaluations. In an eye-opening interview, 3Quency candidly discussed the factors that connected them from the start: their reunion after more than ten years apart, last-minute ideas that defined their identity, and the emotional bonds formed both inside and outside of the practice rooms.

They also talked openly about the private moments that were never seen, like late-night conversations at their apartment and sharing their victories with honesty and humor. These snippets show that their relationship was built on genuine love, trust, and ambition.

The hidden moments that shaped Building the Band winners 3Quency’s path

Quency's path was shaped by small choices and relationships before the applause and final performances. When Brianna and Wennely discovered they had met years earlier at an audition they both attended, it was a lucky coincidence that brought them together again. Having never performed live with a full band before, Nori found comfort in her bandmates' support and encouragement, which helped her adapt and shine.

Even their name was inspired by their uniqueness and creativity. They considered the name “Frequency” but ultimately chose to stylize it as “3Quency,” a bold name that reflected both their trio setup and their sound identity, inspired by Brianna’s distinctive makeup, which was a bright audio wave painted over her eyes.

Life off-camera - Bonding and belly laughs

The trio's house became a relaxing spot and social center away from the band's rehearsals and the editing of the reality show. During breaks from Building the Band shoots, other competitors would often stop by their "kickback house," where they would hang out.

The girls baked cookies, set up beds in the kitchen as a sleeping area, and even sprawled on the floor laughing. These private moments, which they often wished had been shared publicly, strengthened their inner strength and sense of humor.

Perfecting their image — Music, hard work, and resilience

Rehearsals for Building the Band winners were intense and flawless, from singing "Have Mercy" and "Bad Guy" to practicing "Levitating" in perfect harmony. Although the audience was not present for every session, the group persisted despite vocal challenges, communication issues, and longer rehearsal hours to perfect their performances.

The trio, according to Nori, acted as "sponges," gaining strength from each other and building trust through mutual vulnerability.

In reality, what seemed like television magic was the result of close friendship, relentless creativity, and a shared goal. 3Quency's experience in Building the Band is a powerful example of the relationships formed behind the scenes and how they can turn talent into incredible success.
