Invasion Season 3 Episode 10 recap: Mitsuki's fate explained

Invasion Season 3 finished its ten-episode run on Friday, October 24, 2025, with a cliffhanger ending, meaning people will have no option but to demand a fourth season. The season 3 finale sees the protagonists in a constant state of danger. Nikhil, Jamila, and Trevante face the aliens who are invading Earth, while Aneesha is battling the Infinitas.

But the biggest power player in Invasion Season 3 Episode 10 is Mitsuki, who finally accepts her powers. However, we see her vanish in the closing minutes of the episode, setting up an exciting storyline for the fourth season if it ever happens. The synopsis for the season 3 finale reads:

"Season finale. Trevante, Jamila, and Nikhil face the deepest level of alien horror. Aneesha takes on Infinitas. Mitsuki makes a world-altering decision."

What happens in Invasion Season 3 Episode 10?

Based on the official synopsis, it is clear that all characters are put through a ringer in the entire runtime of the episode. It begins with Aneesha hunting down Marilyn and her Infinitas cult. It is worth noting that they killed Clark Evans in the ninth episode of Invasion Season 3; therefore, Aneesha seeks to settle scores with the Infinitas.

Thus, the season 3 finale opens with Aneesha commanding some WDC soldiers through rough terrain, much to the difficulty of her subordinates. However, Aneesha is not paying heed to her soldiers' worsening conditions, as her mind is currently occupied with revenge. This leads to a one-on-one confrontation between her and Marilyn, in which the latter is fatally shot in the last act of the episode.

The mothership is finally brought down:

Another major plotline of Invasion Season 3 Episode 10 is Jamila, Nikhil, and Trevante's stand against the aliens. The plotlines of these three characters are intertwined with that of Mitsuki. Nikhil, Trevante, Jamila, and Mitsuki (who finally decides to use the link with the aliens) try to cause a blackout in the Mothership. Inside, the Jamila, Trevante, and Nikhil plant a bomb that can disable the aliens' communication systems.

As things become a bit difficult for the three, Mitsuki decides to help the trio by distracting the aliens by drawing attention to herself. This allows the bomb to go off, causing a blackout. Things seem celebratory as Mitsuki almost reunites with Nikhil, but this is where she suddenly vanishes, ending Invasion Season 3 on a rather cliffhanger and shocking note.

Simon Kinberg, one of the show's creators, did tease several open plotlines in the third season in an August 2025 interview with ScreenRant:

"Obviously, it's ultimately up to the audience, but I'd always imagined that this was a four-season show. At the end of this season, there are some things that have some measure of closure, and there are some things that are still open, and I think there's still real ground to cover with these characters. But, you know, that's out of my hands, and really up to the audience."

What is Invasion Season 3 about?

On the surface level, Invasion looks like a story about a generic alien invasion of the Earth. But that couldn't be farther from the truth, as the Apple+ series follows protagonists of diverse backgrounds and nationalities trying to bring down the invading extra-terrestrial force. But the third season seems to be about the world uniting to take the fight to the aliens. The synopsis for the current season reads:

"“Invasion” follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world. In season three, those perspectives collide for the first time, as the series’ main characters are brought together to work as a team on a critical mission to infiltrate the alien mothership. The ultimate apex aliens have finally emerged, rapidly spreading their deadly tendrils across the planet. It will take all heroes working together, using their experience and expertise, to save the species. New relationships are formed, old relationships are challenged and even shattered, as an international cast of characters must become a team before it’s too late."
