Countless theories are circulating on the internet regarding Gen V Season 2. We know that the second season will feature Erin Moriarty's Annie January/Starlight, who gives Marie a certain mission. It must be noted that the second season of Gen V takes place after The Boys Season 4 finale, where Homelander has taken over the US, and he has abducted all of Starlight's supporters, including Hughie.
Billy Butcher and Annie are the only resistance, who have managed to evade arrest. Other than her, some believe that A-Train, Maggie Shaw/Queen Maeve, and possibly a powered Ashley Barrett will join Starlight as a part of the resistance. However, since the Gen V Season 2 trailer, some are theorizing that Marie Moreau, played by Jaz Sinclair, might also join Annie.
Some fans believe that over the eight episodes of Gen V's second season, Marie might join Annie in her fight to bring down Homelander's regime. However, we should take this theory with a pinch of salt.
Gen V Season 2's Marie Moreau theory explained:
It is expected that Gen V Season 2 will set up The Boys Season 5 in a similar manner to how the first season of the spin-off series did for Season 4. Now, we know that Butcher and his crew broke apart in the fourth season, right when Butcher killed off Nadia Khayat/Victoria Neuman. Now, except for Butcher and Annie, every member of the group is a captive of the Homelander regime.
Now, as Annie and Marie probably grow closer in Gen V's second season, a fan theory posits that the finale will see the hemokinetic supe join Annie, A-Train, and Queen Maeve. But by The Boys Season 5, we can see the group collaborate with Butcher despite their reservations, to rescue their friends from their captivity.
If Marie does join the resistance, she could be Homelander's biggest threat:
We already know that Marie possesses hemokinetic powers, like Victoria Neuman. This is the reason why Neuman also took a special interest in Marie in the first season of the spin-off series. In theory, Marie might have the ability to separate Compound V from Homelander's blood, rendering him a mortal. But as of now, it should be noted that this is just a fan theory.
Also, if Gen V Season 2 does join Annie in the finale, she will probably be a part of The Boys Season 5. But we will get a clear picture only when the eighth episode of season 2 streams on October 22, 2025.
"In Season Two, school is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it."
