After a cliffhanger ending on Player 246’s fate in season 2, Squid Game Season 3 gave us an answer right in its first episode. Player 246 was saved by No-eul during Gi-hun’s rebellion.

He did not become a part of the game after that as No-eul (Soldier 011) disguised him as a soldier and initially convinced her superior to provide them with a boat so that they could get off the island. After several attempts to stop them, player 246 is found by Jun-ho and is saved by him from the other guards who were sent to kill him.

More on this in our story.

Does Player 246 survive in Squid Game Season 3? Character’s fate, explored

Player 246 or Gyeong-seok is played by Lee Jin-wook, who entered the game to win the prize money for his daughter’s cancer treatment. At the end of season 2, Gyeong-seok was part of Gi-hun’s rebellion and was shot by soldier 011, who was No-eul.

In Squid Game Season 3, No-eul asks Gyeong-seok to pretend to be dead and takes his body to where they harvest organs from injured players. After killing all the guards there, she asks the surgeon to save Gyeong-seak and even donates her blood to him, and later kills the surgeon. She then asks Gyeong-seok to wear the guard's uniform and disguise himself as one of them.

However, her superior finds out about the deception and initially thinks that the disguised guard is the surgeon. She asks him to give them a boat and let them leave the Island since the VIPs have come, and he might not want to see her create mayhem during the game.

They are given a boat and as they set out to leave the Island, No-eul’s superior or the masked officer tells her to come back as he knows she is helping player 246 to escape the game. He threatens her that if she doesn’t bring back player 246, he knows where Gyeong-seok’s daughter is admitted and there might be dire consequences.

No-eul goes back to the Island alone, asking Gyeong-seok to carry on getting away from there. But he is tailed by other pink guards, who try to kill him. After a long search, Jun-ho finally finds the Island in Squid Game Season 3 after killing the pink guards who were attacking player 246.

Player 246 tells him that he was one of the contestants and not a guard and after checking his identity, Jun-ho leaves him with the mercenary as the coast guard was already informed and Gyeong-seok was able to escape the game to go and meet his daughter.

After the game and the Island are destroyed in Season 3, player 246 is seen working in the same amusement park as a painter. He is shown painting No-eul and asking her if they have ever met, as she looks familiar.

After the six month leap shown at the end of Squid Game Season 3, Player 246’s daughter is shown out of the hospital and healthier than we last saw her in season 2. Therefore No-eul successfully helped player 246 survive and meet his daughter by risking her own life several times.
