What we know about Taylor Sheridan is that he does not give either his characters or his audience a moment of rest. Lioness Season 2's finale left fans gasping. Yet, the third season has already begun production in Texas in October 2025, which means a premiere window in late 2026 or early 2027 is set.

However, Paramount+ is still waiting on a specific release date. So, it will take a while to figure out what Joe, Cruz, and the rest of the secret crew have been up to, but if the past is anything to go by, it will be well worth the wait!

Like a calculated blast, Taylor Sheridan's TV universe is getting bigger. His high-pressure storytelling is a genre with Yellowstone, 1923, and Special Ops: Lioness. Filming Lioness Season 3 is taking place at Sheridan's own SSG Studio in Texas, which has been built for speed, size, and visual intensity.

Lioness Season 3 release window

Eight closely knit episodes made up each of the first two seasons, which were released in July 2023 and October 2024, in that order. Season 3 will probably release eight more episodes in a similar format.

Late 2026 seems like an accurate prediction because of Sheridan's production pace (and Texas tax breaks), which keeps things smooth!

This table will help you get the production timeline for Lioness Season 3:

Will Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman be on Lioness Season 3?

Of course, the show's main stars, Zoe Saldaña (Joe) and Nicole Kidman (Kaitlyn), will be back for Season 3. Their rapport acts as the series' emotional core, dealing with trauma, household drama, and national security.

Morgan Freeman as Edwin Mullins, Dave Annable as Neal, and Laysla De Oliveira as Cruz are some of the famous actors who are likely to be back. Ian Bohen, a Sheridan regular, joins as Grady, a Delta Force K9 handler. With a few more wounds and secrets, expect the same tension and blunt dialogue.

What to expect from Lioness Season 3?

You weren't alone if the Season 2 finale made you jump. Sheridan wrapped up with more loss than a shot-down Black Hawk --- from the fiery crash in Iran to Joe's stressful get-together at home. These themes will be picked up in Season 3, which will look into how Kaitlyn copes with the CIA's struggle and changing politics while Joe struggles with her family's differences.

Sheridan will look at deeper moral issues, such as whether Joe is able to save the world without sacrificing her humanity. Tactical genius and new conflict are on their way with Grady's entry. Ghosts from the previous mission are going to haunt Cruz, Tucker, and the others' psyches. There is going to be at least one explosion (either literal or emotional) because it's Sheridan!

In dangerous airspace, Lioness's viewership is growing faster than a helicopter. In its first week of release, Season 2 brought in 5 million viewers worldwide, a 40% increase over Season 1. Fans are looking at everything that happens in TikTok reviews and Reddit discussion boards as well.
