As Morgan and Adam look into the matter, they find out that Greta once performed at The Black Jewel nightclub, owned by Eddie Friedman.
Daphne and Oz approach Eddie, hoping he can shed light on what really happened the night Greta died. Eddie remembers Greta as a rising star with an incredible voice who was destined for fame. He explains that Greta’s success at the club had created tensions between her and Raina, and turned the two into rivals.
The two women shared the same manager, Mac Epps, who Eddie describes as manipulative and dangerous. He also reveals that Epps often blurred the line between personal and professional relationships and used Raina to stay close to Greta.
To help the detectives, Eddie provides old club recordings that showcase Greta’s evolution as a singer. One version of her song sounds raw and unpolished, while another feels powerful and emotional. Eddie says the difference came after Greta broke free from Epps’ control. He also gives them photos and video footage from around the time of Greta’s murder, admitting he should have come forward with evidence years earlier.
