Now we have a new "costume" for The Punisher, which he will be seen wearing in the Disney+ special. Moreover, it seems that the special presentation has wrapped up production. We can ascertain that due to the video that crew member Steve Sands posted on their Instagram account. Sands is also the one who posted Jon Bernthal's look for the special presentation on their Instagram handle.
The new look features Castle in a new "costume" with the Punisher skill, rocking a beard. Other than that, there is another video that Steve Sands posted on their account on August 7, 2025. In that video, we can see Bernthal giving a speech from which it is clear that the Disney+ presentation has wrapped up its production, meaning he could film for Frank Castle's next MCU appearance.
Does the Punisher special presentation's completion mean that it is releasing soon?
It is clear from the video that the cast and crew, who have been filming the Disney+ Punisher presentation since July, are celebrating the production wrap. Jon Bernthal can be seen giving a speech to the team that goes like this:
“I really believe with heart, and belief, and teamwork, and love, the impossible really is possible. And this motherf***er was impossible, but we really f***ing did it, we really f***ing did it, and this street right here has been magic to us. Everybody gave their all here.”
However, it should be noted that as of now, we don't have a release date for the presentation or plot details. Details of the presentation are kept under wraps, and we may learn something about it later this month during D23, which is scheduled between August 29 and August 31, 2025. Jon Bernthal, who is also the writer of the presentation, teased the tone of the presentation:
“It’s going to be dark; Frank has no interest in breaking out the darkness. It’s not going to be easy. I don’t know if that’s the Netflix tone then that’s what it’s going to be. It will not be Punisher-lite, I promise you that.”
But the Disney+ presentation is not the last of Frank Castle in the MCU in 2026.

Frank Castle will be seen in Spider-Man: Brand New Day after the presentation
Kevin Feige spoke about the upcoming fourth Spidey flick, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, in a press conference on July 20, 2025. In that conference, he discussed the tone of the upcoming Spider-Man movie:
“I think there’s a promise at the end of No Way Home, that for as sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man stories him being a proper Spider-Man. Him being by himself, dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with — for lack of better terms — street-level crime, as opposed to world-ending events.”
Teasing Frank Castle's arrival and role in Brand New Day, the Marvel boss said:
“So when you do that, you say, okay, who are the other street-level characters that we’ve never seen him interact with? And of course, I love that The Punisher started in a Spider-Man comic. That great cover... I don’t want to say too much, but Destin — I will say too much — Destin is doing an amazing job right now on that movie, which starts shooting very soon. And he’s got eight or nine comic covers up on his wall in his art department that he is bringing to life in this movie, which is super cool.”
