Landman Season 2 sets premiere month on Paramount+ (but it's later than we thought)

Landman Season 2 is certainly one of the most awaited shows of the year. The Taylor Sheridan series broke viewership records when it arrived on Paramount+ last year and soon found a dedicated fan base.

Paramount has now shared a major update about the release of the second season, revealing it will be coming out later than we expected. While earlier reports suggested that the show could return in November this year, it has now been confirmed that Landman Season 2 will premiere in December 2025.

Starring Billy Bob Thornton in the lead, the series is set in the oilfields of West Texas and tells the story of the owners and workers of the fictional M-Tex company as they try to make the best out of the oil boom.

Landman Season 2 to premiere in December 2025

Paramount recently held its Q2 earnings call, where it was revealed that Landman Season 2 will debut in December 2025. The exact release date remains to be announced. On the contrary, Season 1 premiered in November 2024 and the show was renewed for the second installment in March 2025.

Landman Season 2 will bring back Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, who got promoted to the company’s head after the death of his close friend and boss, Monty Miller. Meanwhile, he has gotten the offer to join hands with cartel boss Galino.

Demi Moore is also returning as Cami Miller, Monti’s wife, who now shares the company’s responsibility with Tommy. In an interview with Deadline in April 2025, Thornton revealed that the working dynamics between Tommy and Cami will be one of the most interesting aspects of Season 2. He said:

“Since she doesn’t really know the oil business that well, I’m there with her to show her how these people operate. You can know something intellectually but what are the street smarts behind it? I know how to deal with these people she’s going to have to deal with.”

He added:

I just tell her, ‘Look, some of these deals you can take but when it gets really weird and difficult, let me know because I know these guys.’ He goes from having a job that’s really difficult and a job that’s very dangerous to having two. Now I’m kind of executive and a landman and a family man in the midst of this tornado. It makes for some pretty interesting stuff, I have to say.”

Other cast members who will be reprising their roles include Ali Larter as Angela Norris, Michelle Randolph as Ainsley Norris, Kayla Wallace as Rebecca Falcone, Paulina Chavez as Ariana Medina, James Jordan as Dale Bradley, Mark Collie as Sheriff Walt Joeberg, Colm Feore as Nathan, and Jacob Lofland as Cooper Norris.

Andy García will also return as Galino and will take on a much bigger role in the story. Stefania Spampinato has joined the cast of the new season as Galino’s wife. Other new cast members in the upcoming installment include Guy Burnet, Sam Elliott, and Miriam Silverman.
