Law & Order Season 25 is going to premiere on NBC on September 25, 2025. The police procedural drama is one of the longest-running shows on television, having been on air since 1990.
Though the series was canceled in 2010 after the 20th season, fans' demand brought it back in 2022. Since then, it has been releasing new seasons every year and continues to impress the audience.
The show revolves around police officers who investigate some dangerous cases and catch suspects, after which the lawyers handle their trials and bring criminals to justice. Here is all you need to know about Law & Order Season 25.
The release date of Law & Order Season 25
Law & Order Season 25 is scheduled to premiere on NBC on Thursday, September 25, 2025. New episodes of the season will be aired weekly on Thursdays at 8 PM ET / PT.
Following the show, its spin-off, Special Victims Unit, will be broadcast at 9 PM ET / PT. NBC has not yet confirmed the total number of episodes in the new season. The episodes will become available to stream on Peacock a day after their television release, i.e., on Fridays.
What to expect from Law & Order Season 25?
The show has always followed a procedural approach, with a new case in every episode. The trend will continue in the new season as the police officers will be hunting down some new criminals, and the lawyers will handle their prosecution. The series has often taken inspiration from real-life cases, and hence, we expect some episodes to be based on true stories.
Meanwhile, the season will also have to deal with the exit of Detective Jalen Shaw. Since actor Mehcad Brooks has departed the show, the creators will likely establish the reason behind Jalen’s absence in the first few episodes, revealing what happened to the detective.
