Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 27 Episode 3 recap - The new case involves a bombing and the murder of a fertility doctor

In Episode 3 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 27, the SVU team fails to collect DNA evidence of a rape suspect after a shocking bombing incident that goes off in the clinic. The team initially suspects their culprit, Ted Simons. They have been trying to get his DNA to charge him for months, but he has been making it difficult for them, even bleaching his garbage bin.

Therefore, he is brought in for interrogation. Simons did not know anything about the bombing or even about the SVU team. While they got his DNA, they were now sure that Simons would not bomb the women's clinic to stop them from getting his DNA.

However, their suspicions did not die down until the fertility doctor of the clinic, Dr. Ila Mukherjee, was found dead. She was found strangled to death, and on her stomach, the word 'SL*T' was written. The team then learned that Dr. Mukherjee was the target of the bombing all alone. When it failed, the culprit decided to kill her.

As they begin the investigation, Ila's husband, Chris Clemente, becomes the prime suspect in Episode 3 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 27. Ila and Chris, a proficient plumber, were going through a difficult divorce as Chris wanted a bigger part in her clinic, and they could not settle the case.

There were numerous problems with Chris as he was dealing with alcoholism and also suspected his wife of infidelity. When he was brought in for interrogation, new squad member Detective Jake Griffin's frustration with being unable to crack the case came to the surface.

Furthermore, the team also learned that Dr. Ila was getting death threats from a cult following the antinatalism movement. As they investigated the cult, they found out about Kurt Young. he joined the cult for the young women who were part of it and was in a relationship with Lauden. While he was found not to have killed Ila, he was still a murderer when Lauden told that he killed Autumn, his previous girlfriend.

After finding the murder weapon, Kurt was convicted of killing Autumn but not Ila.

After looking everywhere, the team then discovers in Episode 3 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 27 that Ila was actually murdered by her own layer, Mark Olson. Olson was financially struggling and dragging her divorce case to keep the money flowing. However, this couldn't go on forever.

Catching Olson was difficult as he cleaned the murder weapon with bleach, and the team had to rely on the strangulation marks that matched the murder weapon to bring him in for questioning. It was ADA Dominick Carisi and his brutal interrogation that helped them solve the twisted case of Ila's murder.

At the end of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 27 Episode 3, Velasco finally said goodbye to the squad as he was moving to San Diego to complete his undercover mission involving a drug operation. He met with Benson and later Fin (Ice-T) to say his final goodbye before exiting the show.
