Liam Hemsworth has taken on the role of the White Wolf in The Witcher Season 4, replacing Henry Cavill mid-series in Season 4. Fans were extremely skeptical about this shift since Cavill had quickly become a fan favorite due to his brilliant portrayal of the role. However, it seems like Hemsworth was also unsure of taking on the role in the beginning, especially because it came with a certain amount of baggage.
In a conversation with Tudum, Liam Hemsworth opened up about his journey from playing The Witcher on his console to playing the lead character in Season 4 of the Netflix adaptation. While the role was quite exciting, he was also hesitant about how the audience would react to the change.

Liam Hemsworth opens up about how he was nervous about replacing Henry Cavill in The Witcher Season 4
In conversation with Tudum, Hemsworth got candid about his emotional journey while filming for The Witcher Season 4. He focused on how initially he was unsure about playing the character.
"Initially, I was pretty hesitant and unsure,” the actor reveals. “It’s an odd thing to be asked to come in midway through a series like this and continue on as the lead character. But, as a fan of the video game, I felt like I could do something cool with it."
During the conversation, Hemsworth revealed that he was a huge fan of the video game, The Witcher. He mentioned that he was a secret gamer and spent hours playing The Witcher. So, when he got the opportunity to play the lead in the Netflix adaptation, it felt quite unreal.
"I’m a bit of a secret gamer. I was such a big fan of this character, so it was a bit of those pinch-yourself moments of walking around in this costume that a few years ago I was playing a video game of."
Despite Liam Hemsworth's concerns, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich was confident about the casting choice and felt Hemsworth would do justice to the character.
"The very first time that I met with Liam Hemsworth, in my gut, I knew that he would make a perfect Geralt for us in Season 4, because he was able to be very honest with me about the things that really resonated with him in earlier seasons, and also some things he’d like to shift."
It remains to be seen how the audience reacts to Liam Hemsworth's portrayal of Geralt in the show.
The Witcher Season 4 will premiere on October 30th and will be available to stream on Netflix.
