NCIS: Tony & Ziva kicks off with espionage, intrigue and a wedding dress in the first 10 minutes of Episode 1

The NCIS universe is expanding with another spin-off series, NCIS: Tony & Ziva, on Paramount+. Michael Weatherly (Anthony DiNozzo) and Cote de Pablo's (Ziva David) characters from the parent series will lead the spin-off, which will premiere with the first three episodes on September 4, 2025.

Created by John McNamara and moderated by NCIS' Brian Dietzen, the show will consist of a total of ten episodes, which will drop weekly till the Season 1 finale on October 23, 2025.

NCIS: Tony & Ziva surprised fans at the San Diego Comic-Con with a new trailer of the show and an exclusive peek inside the first 10 minutes of Episode 1, titled No Country Is Safe.

The panel included stars Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly, along with McNamara and Dietzen. No Country Is Safe kicks off an epic adventure filled with espionage, high-stakes missions, and Tony and Ziva donned in wedding attire.

NCIS: Tony & Ziva: A sneak peek inside Episode 1

Thanks to the recent Comic Con, fans were given a sneak peek into Tony and Ziva's upcoming adventure in the spin-off series.

NCIS: Tony & Ziva is set right after Ziva's supposed death, following which Tony left the NCIS team and moved to Paris with their daughter, Talia. Years later, after Ziva was found alive, she went on one final mission before settling with her family in Paris.

The spin-off series shows Tony and Ziva living with Talia in Paris until their life is threatened. Tony's security company is attacked, forcing the couple to be on the run across Europe, which kicks off their epic new adventure.

NCIS: Tony & Ziva Episode 1 begins in Budapest, where the couple is pulling off a ruse in style. Tony, dressed in a stylish tux, compliments Ziva, who is wearing a beautiful wedding dress. While Ziva walks down the aisle, Tony covers the venue until he notices a woman pulling her gun, and the scene flashes back to one week before in Paris.

The flashback scene reveals that the woman stole money from an Interpol agent and wired it into Tony's security company, initiating a potential cyberattack. Tony was informed about this fire fraud by one of his associates, Claudette (Amita Suman).

NCIS: Tony & Ziva Episode 1 sneak peek ended with the woman finding Claudette, but she eventually flees. After Claudette finds a flash drive that ends the cyberattack, Tony is freed from Interpol custody, but his associate hides the drive in her mouth.

What can you expect from NCIS: Tony & Ziva?

The first ten minutes of NCIS: Tony & Ziva left fans with more questions than answers, and it looks like the couple is in for an epic adventure that threatens their life in Paris. While the twist of the wedding dress is yet to be revealed, it sets up a thrilling tale filled with secrets and espionage.

Showrunner John McNamara, while addressing the fans at the Hilton’s Indigo Ballroom, teased details about NCIS: Tony & Ziva:

“I do feel that we tried to walk a balance between what institutional viewers who know it cold. I don’t think they will be bored. Hopefully they’ll be almost nostalgic to see. The new viewers will hopefully be like, ‘oh wow, these two are a thing.”

Unlike the parent show, the spin-off series will follow the couple as they go on a deadly journey after the harrowing events in Episode 1:

“It’s an epic love story about two people going on a journey...it’s not a will they or won’t they. It’s a when will they.” said Weatherly and de Pablo
