Physical: Asia Episode 1 featured the first quest. It was called Territorial Conquest and was divided into three rounds. It then further continued in the next episode as well.

All eight nations participated in the first quest. Before getting started with the quest, teams were given time to come up with a strategy and discuss that with their teammates.

While discussing the strategy, Team Korea's captain, Kim Dong-hyun, shared his idea with his teammates:

"We shouldn't push too hard. If we do that, it'll all fall on Min-jae. If we go slow, it's like the strength of three people. We need to be close together and coordinated. We'll push from behind. And once he's there, we'll stay behind."

Physical: Asia: Teams learn the rules and rewards for the first Territorial Conquest

Physical: Asia Episodes 1 and 2 featured the first Territorial Conquest. For that, all eight teams were tasked to go against each other head-to-head. There were four plots on a huge dune.

"In Territorial Conquest, all eight nations will go head-to-head in a race across the sands to conquer the territory on top of the dune," explained the narrator.

Listening to the narrator, Team Japan's Yushin Okami confessed that it was finally time to start fighting. Physical: Asia's Igedz Executioner from Team Indonesia confessed to the cameras:

"I don't think most of the competitors were expecting a team challenge right out the gate. In the previous two seasons, the first challenges were al individual in order to assess each player within the larger group. So I think this kind of big, group challenge caught us all off-guard by subverting our expectations."

The narrator continued with the quest's rounds, rules, rewards, and further instructions. There would be three rounds. For the first round:

"You must conquer one of four plots. Each round will last two minutes. Once time is called, whichever nation has the most contestants on an individual plot, will have conquered that land for their team."

The first quest was all about physical combat, including pushing, pulling, and grabbing. The four teams that secured their plots would advance to the second round. The plots would be reduced to two, and then one.

At last, the team occupying the plot would be declared the winning team.

"The advantage for the winning team...is the right to decide the matchups for the second quest. That means the winning team will get to select their own opponent and everyone else's opponents," revealed the narrator.

Before getting started with the first quest's first round, Physical: Asia teams were given some time to strategize for the challenge. Team Korea's Kim Dong-hyun talked about not pushing too hard. He thought that if they were to go slow, then it would be like the strength of three people. His strategy was to push from behind.

In his private confession, he noted that if given a chance, they would lock in their arms together and pull forward while facing inwards. His team practiced locking hands as a team before the quest.
