Actor Hunter Doohan, who plays Tyler Galpin on Wednesday, shared his thoughts about being unable to meet Lady Gaga when she shot her part on the show. The Bloody Mary singer will be seen on the Netflix series in the second half of season 2, Elle notes. On June 1, Netflix shared an X post, writing:

“Welcome to Nevermore, Mother Monster. Lady Gaga will guest star in Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 as Rosaline Rotwood — a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.”

On the August 9 episode of the Just for Variety with Marc Malkin podcast, Hunter Doohan seemed upset about not being able to meet Lady Gaga, as he said:

“I’m the one gay guy on the show, and I didn’t get to meet Gaga. This is bullsh*t.”

Speaking about his character on the show, he said there was still much to discover about the season’s big mysteries. He explained that Tyler’s story would take a surprising turn.

In episode four, he said it seemed like Tyler thought he had freed himself from the master, but from Wednesday’s talk at Willow Hill, it became clear that the Hyde could not live without a master. When Malkin asked if he liked doing stunts, Hunter Doohan said:

“It’s so fun. I did the ‘Daredevil’ show and was so excited. I was like, ‘I’m going to fight and really be in it,’ but I was a guest star on it, too, so it’s like, ‘We don’t have time to teach you that.’”

Hunter Doohan’s first impression of reading the script for the second season of Wednesday

Hunter Doohan said that when he first read the scripts for the second season, he thought it was funny and kept laughing, especially at the scenes with the Slurp zombie, Pugsley, and Eugene.

He noticed that his character was still chained up and was excited that the season included more Addams Family moments. He also liked that the writers gave more focus to showing everyone’s powers.

Marc Malkin mentioned how the internet went crazy over a shirtless scene of Hunter Doohan in the season, with people even making hashtags about it. Hunter said the writers knew exactly what they were doing, as they had also created “Smallville,” which had memorable scenes like that.

He found it funny while reading the script, noticing it said things like “chained up, shirtless, sweaty.” He even joked about whether his character would wear pants. When asked if he felt uncomfortable being chained, Hunter Doohan said:

“It’s just funny. Jenna walked in the first day and busted up laughing. We have such a good time, and they feel so silly and goofy on the day. And then I see the episode, and it’s like, ‘Oh, my God, it looks so much more intense than it felt on the day.’”

While talking about filming Evil Dead Burn, Hunter Doohan said things were going well. They had already been filming for two weeks after spending a few weeks preparing. He shared that the movie was wild, with lots of stunt work and prosthetic makeup tests.
