RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars' Yvie Oddly stirred speculation among fans after sharing a flyer for a Denver yard sale scheduled on August 22, 2025, which appeared to signal the end of her drag career. The flyer led to widespread rumors about her health and intentions to leave drag behind.
However, in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly published on July 31, 2025, Yvie Oddly clarified that the post was meant to troll fans rather than confirm her exit.
“Not any more than I already have, no! I think it’s hilarious when, no shade to every diva who believes in her heart that she’s quitting, a queen is like, ‘I’m quitting drag.’ No you’re not, b***h,” she said, adding that quitting drag isn’t as definitive as some make it out to be.
Known for winning season 11 of RuPaul's Drag Race and returning for RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 7, Yvie Oddly has long been candid about her journey through drag and her experience with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.
Is RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars' Yvie Oddly really quitting drag?
Yvie Oddly, who rose to prominence on RuPaul's Drag Race and RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, stated clearly that she is not formally quitting drag. Her response was meant to mirror how fans often jump to conclusions.
“The only way a queen quits drag is through death,”she told Entertainment Weekly.
Referring to the flyer that sparked the speculation, Yvie said,
“The purpose of this event is to have a yard sale. I’ve had one before, it’s never been a big deal, but where I’m at right now, when I posted that I’m having a yard sale, people jumped to crazy conclusions about my health and quitting drag.”
The RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars alum shared that she used humor to respond to false rumors, saying it helped her reclaim control over the narrative. Rather than directly confronting the speculation, she chose to play along sarcastically.
Yvie Oddly admitted her drag career has slowed, performing only a couple of shows a month. While some expected a big announcement, she simply stepped back quietly. Despite the lighter performance schedule, she remains active through other projects like writing a book, making music, and hosting her podcast Highkey. She clarified she's not quitting drag entirely.
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars' Yvie opens up about disability and her career shift
In the same July 31 conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Yvie Oddly also addressed fans’ reactions to her openness about living with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a connective tissue disorder. The RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars finalist shared that public knowledge of her disability has affected perceptions of her work.
“I appreciate the support I get, but I’d appreciate if people would forget I ever said I was disabled,” she said. “It’s not because I’m ashamed, but people take that narrative and automatically apply it anywhere and everywhere.”
Yvie Oddly explained that people often wrongly link her professional choices to her medical condition, assuming her absence or changes in schedule are due to health issues. She pointed out how some speculate she’s too ill to work or that tour organizers can’t manage her disability.
However, she made it clear that her diagnosis doesn’t dictate her life or drag career. She emphasized that she lives freely day to day and only confronts her condition when it directly limits her actions.
In addition to addressing her health and performance schedule, the RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars alum spoke candidly about dealing with personal habits that have impacted her creativity.
“I’ve been such a bad hoarder, and I’ve been this way my whole life… but it’s gotten to the point where it’s disrupted my ability to make art,” she admitted.
The upcoming Denver yard sale, she noted, is part of an effort to simplify her environment and give back to the community.
“Yes, I’m quitting drag to start over again…. I want to see what drag I can do if I don’t own any shoes.”
