Oh My Ghost Clients Episode 8 recap: Mu-jin meets his new clients
After solving Yoon-jae’s case in the previous episode of Oh My Ghost Clients, the trio didn't receive any new cases until one of Mu-jin’s friends called him from the hospital. He asks for compensation from his company after falling off the stairs while leaving a company dinner. Although Mu-jin is (was) aware of his friend's drinking problem, he reluctantly agrees to file for compensation, as a case of the situation is possible.
While leaving the hospital, Mu-jin comes across a couple of factory workers stumbling inside, asking for help. Since no one around gives them any heed, Mu-jin comes to realise that they're ghosts and takes them to his office. This comes off as a surprise to Hui-joo and Gyeon-u, as they had never worked on more than one ghost's case simultaneously.
They watch the news of how the warehouse of Bukuk Logistics is destroyed, and these trapped workers end up losing their lives. The company and CEO were already informed and aware of the fact that the alarm and fire extinguisher weren't functional. With all of their exits blocked, they couldn’t even get out.
Their CEO, Mr. Choi, didn’t call for help at the right time and fled the scene, leaving them to die in the trapped warehouse. Gyeon-u shows them an article about similar incidents happening in other factories and warehouses. However, even after the deaths of many workers, the CEOs or other officials have not been receiving punishment, according to the new labor laws. Therefore, Mu-jin has to find a way to get them justice by building a strong case against the people responsible for their deaths.
Oh My Ghost Clients Episode 8 recap: The trio finds out about the real owner of Bukuk Logistics
A new problem arises in Mu-jin’s life in episode 8 of Oh My Ghost Clients when he discovers that the ghosts couldn’t leave his office even after countless tries. They leave him sleep deprived with their constant talking, a lighthearted moment in the grievous episode.
They discover a couple of new facts. Apparently, Mr. Choi is about to be kidnapped by some mysterious men, but he escaped for the time being. The trio also finds out that Bukuk is actually owned by Myeongum Construction, which, turns out, is a bigger company posing a difficult challenge for them to go against.
As they research more about Myeongum’s connection to Bukuk, they get wind of the fact that the company had already started planning to get out of this mess by creating another company with a new name and CEO. This clears up how they use the laws and make money and disregarding the lives of the workers. Mr. Choi ended up being just another person who was to take the fall for the accident which caused the death of the workers, but he panicked, and they had to catch him to make sure he didn't blurt the truth.
Oh My Ghost Clients Episode 8 recap: Mr. Choi might be the key to bringing Myeongum down
Although the episode of Oh My Ghost Clients reaches the halfway mark, the trio is unable to find a proper lead. Gyeon-u takes a daring step and uploads a video on his channel revealing that Myeongum is the real owner of Bukuk. The move is apprehended by Mu-jin and Hui-joo as this could put him in danger. Without proper evidence, Myeongum is too big a threat for them to deal with.
They try to convince the families of the deceased not to take the money and settle, as they want to wreak vengeance against those responsible for the fire. Given the financial status of the families after the deaths of their sole earners, they fail to convince all of them. Just then, Gyeon-u receives a call from Mr. Choi, asking him to meet. He claims to have some crucial information that could help them take down Myeongum.
Mu-jin, accompanied by all the angry ghosts, sets out to meet him. The ghosts want to possess Mu-jin's body for a while to beat Mr. Choi for not helping them. While Mu-jin tries to get away from the ghosts to avoid getting possessed, Mr. Choi arrives, and we see the wrath of the ghosts as they generate strong winds to blow the dust (by stomping their feet on the ground) and lift Mr. Choi in the air.
After Choi is suddenly dropped on the ground, he passes out, and Mu-jin condemns their action, as Choi could have been their last saving link. As he gains consciousness, Mu-jin asks Mr. Choi to sincerely apologise to his workers, who are responsible for lifting him in the air. Although reluctant at first, Mr. Choi does apologise to all of them, taking the blame, which makes his workers emotional.
He then reveals that he was just the face of Bukuk Logistics, while the real owner was Myeongum. He also informs Mu-jin that all of this can be proved through the evidence in a USB drive kept hidden in the fridge of his office. But before he is able to share more information, men trying to follow Choi arrive at the location. As a result, they flee in different directions to save their lives. Mu-jin might find himself in bigger trouble this time in Oh My Ghost Clients.
