Only Murders in the Building Season 5 Episode 1 will premiere on Hulu on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET. Audiences are in for a treat as not just the first, but episodes 2 and 3 will also be released on Hulu at the same time on the premiere day, ensuring a binge-watch session.
The show will later follow a weekly schedule, airing the remaining seven episodes on subsequent Tuesdays. Only Murders in the Building is one of the few streaming shows which has followed a yearly broadcast roster since its premiere, and have come up with a new season every year since 2021.
What to expect from Only Murders in the Building Season 5 Episode 1?
The first episode, titled Nail in the Coffin, will pick up right after the events of the previous season’s finale, where the apartment building’s doorman, Lester, was found dead in the fountain. The lead trio is now going to investigate the murder and find out what happened to him. Their investigation will lead them outside Manhattan. The official logline for the first episode reads:
“While investigating Lester's mysterious and accidental death, the clues lure Charles, Oliver, and Mabel out of Manhattan and straight into some dangerous new, old territory.”
Then, in the second episode, After You, the show will delve into Lester’s past, revealing how he became a doorman. It will also explore how he was aware of some of the darkest secrets of the Arconia, but made sure to protect the residents. The logline reads:
“A look back at Lester's early days at the Arconia reveals how a young dreamer became a steadfast doorman - sacrificing his future to protect the residents from the building's secrets.”
In the third episode, Rigor, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel will finally have a breakthrough in their investigation as they will find a key piece of evidence. However, they will have to race against time, as the official synopsis of the episode reads:
