In Episode 4 of Only Murders in the Building Season 5, Howard introduces everyone to the robot named LESTR. Most people, including the doorman, Randall, are not impressed.

It is announced that LESTR will take care of deliveries, but there will always be a human at the door of the apartment building, meaning Randall's job will remain safe. Further, the trio, now including Vince, goes through Lester’s building ledgers.

Oliver and Vince make bird sounds to depict what was written on the ledgers, as Lester named the people after various birds. As Charles joins in, they find that everything points to Jay being their number one suspect in the murder case.

After hearing his name in the OMITB season 5 podcast teaser, Jay contacts them and informs them to join the podcast to clear his name and their suspicions as well. He is accompanied by Bash and Camilla, the other two billionaires.

As they begin talking, Bash finds it odd that the trio is looking into the murder of some random mobster, Nicky. However, Oliver reveals that they think both murders are connected as Nicky’s family owned Arconia's laundry service.

To get more details, Mabel decides that they should interrogate the billionaires separately. While interrogating separately, they are told by their billionaire guests that Nicky cut Jay’s finger off with a cleaver. At the time, the trio believed what they were told. However, more twists are revealed at the end of the episode.

At the end of Episode 4 of Only Murders in the Building Season 5, the Arconia trio discovers more information about the case but also learn that they have been tricked by the billionaire trio.

They find out that Wondify wants to sign a deal with them. The trio, especially Mabel, is excited by the news as she wanted this deal to work out. As they go to the headquarters, Oliver tells the other two that there must be someone else present in the Velvet Room that Lester did not mention in his building ledgers.

Furthermore, after taking a look at the photo of the finger they found, Mabel realised as well that the finger does not belong to Jay, as it was the wrong hand and the billionaire lied to her.

However, they cannot talk about him in the podcast anymore as they have now signed a deal with Wondify, which states that the management of the company should not be mentioned in their podcast, resulting in the trio realizing that they have been manipulated by the billionaires.
