Episode 2 of Ozark Season 3 sees the Byrdes disagreeing and hiding things from each other. While their views regarding the casino business differ, it gradually becomes a bigger problem in their already complicated life.
Wendy's brother, Ben, loses his cool in his teaching job, and after losing the job, comes to stay with the Byrdes. Furthermore, Marty curates a perfect plan to force the owners of the casino not to sell it to Wendy, and Ruth finds a way that forces them to sell it to Wendy.
However, this move brings the Byrdes to the FBI's radar.

Ozark Season 3 Episode 2 recap: Marty tries to sabotage Wendy's plan to buy a new casino
In Episode 2 of Ozark Season 3, Marty figures out that Wendy has not been truthful about everything to him, as Helen is becoming her go-to person now, even while making big decisions like expanding the business. She is thinking of buying a casino owned by an elderly couple and is offering them 7% more than the market value.
However, Marty does not want to get more entangled in the cartel business and thinks of sabotaging the plan. While Wendy talks to the wife, Marty gets a chance to talk to the husband. He encourages him not to give up on his dream and sell the casino. The husband, Carl, tells him that the other casino, across the river, is going to make better money than they do anyway, and his wife would not agree with keeping the casino anymore.
However, Marty's words help change Carl's mind, and they cancel the deal.
Ozark Season 3 Episode 2 recap: Wendy comes to live with the Byrdes
At the beginning of Episode 2 of Ozark Season 3, we are introduced to a teacher with a short temper. After snatching the cellphones of the students, he also beats up the worker who was operating teh wood chipper where he placed the cellphones.
He loses his job, and later Ruth finds him loitering around the casino. She confronts him about it and calls security on him. She also threatens to call the owners of the casino. That's when he reveals he is Ben ( Tom Pelphrey), Wendy's brother.
Ben's arrival becomes another conflict between the husband and wife.
Ozark Season 3 Episode 2 recap: Ruth helps Wendy with her new plans
Marty solves the problem between Ruth and Frank Jr. by offering to give him 15%. Later, he asks the man to blow up the casino across the river, which will destroy the competition, and the old couple will not sell their casino. As planned, Frank Jr. does just that, and the casino is in flames.
This makes the couple back out of the deal, just as Mary wanted. However, Ruth becomes Wendy's helping hand as she suggests the idea of rigging the slot machines in the couple's casino, which will make everyone who plays there win, resulting in them losing money.
With Ruth's idea, Wendy successfully buys another casino to keep up the revenue stream, which irks Marty. This also leads to more problems, as after buying another casino, the FBI is alerted to the Byrdes' dealings, and Marty receives a warrant that they will now audit all of the Byrdes' assets.
Therefore, Marty and Wendy's clashes lead to more problems for the family.
