With four seasons of Ozark, the Byrdes have evaded justice and escaped death numerous times. And the finale was no different. At the end of part 2 of Ozark season 4, some huge revelations were made.
Camila finds out who killed Javi, endangering a fan-favorite character’s life. Other than that, the Byrdes were also responsible for another death that might have proved to be their downfall, but again, they survived in the game of fraud and lies.

Ozark Season 4 Part 2 ending explained: Camila takes a drastic step
Ruth Langmore finally gets to take revenge for her cousin Wyatt by killing Javi. After avenging her cousin, it looked like Ruth might have turned around her fate by winning the casino, wiping her criminal record clean, and building a house for herself. But that seemed like just a dream as she had killed the cartel leader, and the consequences would be heavy, which she later had to pay for with her death.
At the end of Ozark Season 4, Part 2, Camila forces Clare to reveal that Ruth was the one who killed Javi. This sets her on the path of revenge, resulting in a fan-favorite character’s death as she kills Ruth in the finale. But even in her last moments, Ruth did not cower and told Camila that Javi got what he deserved. In the end, Ruth faces the same tragic fate as the Langmores.

The Byrdes get rid of the final hurdle
The ending of Ozark depicted that the Byrdes would go to any lengths to save themselves, even if it means letting people close to them die. The finale saw Ruth’s heartbreaking death, but it also showed us how the Byrdes got away with everything they had done.
In the end, Mel Sattem makes one of his life's worst decisions and pays a visit to the Byrde family. He tries to warn them, telling them that they cannot be saved every time and that they will pay for their crimes. However, it's the hour of the Byrdes as they are not threatened, and out of them all, it's Jonah who picks up the rifle.
Jonah shoots Mel and kills the cop at the end of Ozark. The Byrdes getting away with it led fans to conclude that power and money can help influential people escape any situation.
