Here are some of the major events in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8:

  • The party boat incident revealed

The party boat incident has been brought up since the Peacemaker Season 2 premiere. The finale reveals what actually happened. Chris and Emilia are hanging out as Christopher comes across a concert by the rock duo Nelson. As the two are enjoying the song, they kiss. This is what Chris has been asking Emilia: if the kiss meant something to her as well.

  • Vigilante and Adebayo bail Chris out

Leota visits Adrian's place and uses the drug money he stashed to bail Chris out. However, Christopher disappears right after he is bailed out. When Leota asks Harcourt and Economos if they can track the chip inside Chris's head, but both reveal that they don't have access to anything related to Christopher.

  • Leota and Keeya Adebayo go their separate ways

One of the episode's best scenes features Leota and her wife. The two finally sit down to have the conversation that they have avoided for the past seven episodes of Peacemaker Season 2. The previous episode revealed that Leoota and her wife were planning to open a pet shop in Gotham before the former ended up taking Amanda Waller's assignment in the first season.

Now, Leota finally apologizes to her wife for still being involved in the world of espionage, but says that she wants to be a part of this world, which would mean that they should go their separate ways.

  • Rick Flag Sr.'s Plans are revealed

The sixth episode saw Rick Flag Sr. visit Belle Reeve for Lex Luthor's help, and he points the A.R.G.U.S. director towards his employee Sydney Happersen. Now, Flag Sr. is working with Happersen, Otis, and several other LuthorCorp employees as he sends A.R.G.U.S. agents into danger by sending them to the QUC to explore different universes.

The montage sees Flag Sr. celebrate with LuthorCorp employees as A.R.G.U.S. agents die in painful ways because of the dangers in other universes. In a meeting with the Secretary of Defense, Flag. Sr. reveals that they found a seemingly hospitable and quaint world dubbed "Salvation" for imprisoning metahuman prisoners. Sasha Bordeaux is also there and is shocked to learn this information.

  • Bordeaux and Harcourt bond

While the two started on the wrong foot, Emilia is the first person Sasha calls after learning Rick Flag Sr.'s plans. She expresses her disillusionment with A.R.G.U.S., and Harcourt takes her to Leoata, where the three discuss their plan. Harcourt also asks Bordeaux if she has access to Christopher, and they locate him at a motel.

  • The intervention

Harcourt, Adrian, Economos, and Leota stage an intervention trying to convince him to return to them. Leota tells Chris that she believes in miracles because Eagly hugged him back in the first season. The others also tell Chris how much he means to them. As they are about to leave, Chris again asks Emilia if their kiss on the party boat meant anything to her, and she says that it meant everything to her.

  • The closing montage

The episode then proceeds to a montage that sees the formation of Leota's agency. She has been trying to build a security agency since the Peacemaker Season 2 premiere, and she finally establishes it in the finale under the name "Checkmate". While the name might not mean anything for a casual viewer, it is the name of a spy team in the DC lore, which Sasha Bordeaux is a part of.

It seems that Bordeaux, Tim Meadows' Langston Fleury, and Judomaster are also a part of Checkmate. Apart from Checkmate, we learn that Eagly also finally hugs John Economos, forming a bond between the two. It seems that Chris and Emelia have also started dating. All seems fine, but not for long. Chris is abducted by some masked men.

Turns out, they were A.R.G.U.S. agents as Rick Flag Sr. orders his agents to imprison Chris in Salvation. Christopher tries his best to escape back to QUC, but the portal closes. The Peacemaker Season 2 finale ends with a close-up of Chris's face as he hears some demonic screams.

The Peacemaker Season 2 has concluded its eight-episode run with a setup for the DCU. Catch it as soon as you can.
