Now it looks like we know how Peacemaker Season 2 will retcon one of the first season's most important scenes, that of the DCEU Justice League meeting the 11th Street Kids. This particular moment was signalled out as the most confusing one as soon as it was confirmed that the second season of Peacemaker would be set in the newly created DCU.
Now, the internet scooper MyTimeToShineHello has suggested that instead of the Justice League, Peacemaker and his crew will encounter the Justice Gang after defeating the butterflies like they did in the season 1 finale. However, it must be noted that this is just a rumor for now, and we will learn if this is true or not next Thursday, when Peacemaker Season 2 begins streaming on HBO Max.
Explaining Peacemaker Season 2's Justice League retcon:

As mentioned above, the entire rumor comes from the internet scooper, MyTimeToShineHello. According to this scooper, the first episode of Peacemaker Season 2 will begin with a recap. The sccoper went on to reveal that the recap will play all scenes from Peacemaker Season 1, with one major change: the pivotal moment from the season 1 finale, where the Justice League enters the frame.
However, the second season recap will reveal that instead of the Justice League, the 11th Street Kids will meet the Justice Gang. While Peacemaker and his crew meet Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Aquaman (with the latter being played by Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa), they now supposedly meet David Corenswet's Superman, Supergirl, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner's Green Lantern.
While Superman and Supergirl are in shadows, Kendra and Guy's faces will be shown clearly. This rumor aligns with what James Gunn told IGN in a November 2024 interview:
“The truth is almost all of Peacemaker is canon with the exception of Justice League… which we will kind of deal with in the next season of Peacemaker.”
While the quote may align with the rumor for now, it is important to note that we are still a week away from the Peacemaker Season 2 release date.
The second season will dabble with the multiverse:
The latest trailer confirms that the second season will dabble with the DC multiverse. It seems from the trailer that John Cena's Christopher Smith/Peacemaker has stolen an idyllic life from his multiversal counterpart. Therefore, from the looks of it, Chris's arc in the second season is to be content with what he has.
Enabling him to steal that life is the QUC technology that was introduced in Peacemaker Season 1 and heavily used in Superman this Summer. Teasing a major cameo in the season 2 finale, James Gunn said:
"You've seen what we call the QUC, the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, in the first season of Peacemaker, and we see more about that technology in Superman. The QUC is the center of the story in Peacemaker season 2... We see a lot of different characters from Superman in the [season], [including] Isabela and Nathan and Sean, and then we see a bunch of other characters later on in the season from other parts of the DCU and from Superman. There might even be one really, really, really big cameo near the end of the show."
As season 2 gets ready for its August 21, 2025, streaming premiere, the eight-episode Peacemaker Season 1 is available on HBO Max.
