After Will was left with no accommodation, he started focusing on his bar and went to pick up his beer equipment from Sylvia's house. She helps him move the equipment, but in the process, sends beer flying over her house's balcony. Platonic Season 2 finale ending explained: Charlie and Sylvia's new normal

Ever since Sylvia had accepted Cabo Carrie’s job offer and Charlie was busy writing his Brett Coyote book, the couple had not spent much time together. In the Platonic Season 2 finale, Charlie was hit by writer's block and doubted his writing potential because he believed that Sylvia was upset about his career switch.

However, a chance ride in their minivan cleared the air between the couple and Sylvia revealed that she had read Charlie's manuscript and liked it. She encourages him to keep writing and Charlie finally finishes his book, even self-publishes it. While the small book isn't much, Charlie is overwhelmed when a little girl asks him to sign her copy. Charlie decides to take up a stable job and continue his writing on the weekends.

Platonic Season 2 finale ending explained: Sylvia helps Will

While Sylvia and Will were not on speaking terms after their argument in the Platonic Season 2 finale, she had to contact him first to deliver a notice. Since she knew the court notice was no good news, she was tempted to help him and the friends discovered that Johnny 66 had sent a non-compete notice to Will, meaning that he could not open his own bar.

Will asks for Sylvia's advice and the best friends finally make up. Sylvia advises Will to talk to Jenna, but he ends up sleeping with his ex-fiancée. Sylvia is shocked to hear about this sexual encounter and invites Will to Charlie's book launch party.

Platonic Season 2 finale ending explained: Will and Sylvia's new venture

Charlie's book launch in the Platonic Season 2 finale was a close gathering of friends and Will takes advantage of the legal presence there. He asks Stewart and Charlie about Johnny 66's non-compete and both legal experts tell him that a non-compete notice is difficult to get out of. However, Stewart finds a loophole and tells Will that he can still open his bar with someone else's face. If the name of the main owner is changed, the non-compete would hold no value.

Since Will had no friends left at this point, he could only think of Sylvia for this deal. It favoured Will that Sylvia was frustrated with her job and was looking for a new business opportunity and what's better than her best friend's bar? However, Sylvia and Will's recent falling out had taught her that their friendship needs work and they had a heart-to-heart in the Platonic Season 2 finale.

Sylvia made some suggestions and added wine to the drinks menu. It was hinted that the pair will continue to remain friends and will possibly become business partners if/when Platonic returns for Season 3.
