Pluribus Episode 7, "The Gap", is a largely uneventful entry in this Apple TV sci-fi series. But despite that, "The Gap" manages to be an engaging episode that's 47 minutes long. It starts with Carol in a car driving from Las Vegas to her home in New Mexico, but it switches POV from Carol to Manousos. This surprised fans as Manousos had barely appeared in the previous six Pluribus episodes."Manousos begins a dangerous trek to meet Carol. Fans pointed out for a week that travelling to New Mexico is not that pragmatic, and this Pluribus episode confirms that the roadway is not the best way to travel. When we see Manousos for the first time in the episode, he is carrying a can to steal fuel for his car.But soon he reaches a dead end, where he can reach New Mexico only by hiking through the Darién Gap, a path infested with dirty water, trees infected with bacteria, and very little drinking water. One of the hive-minded people even warns him, but he ignores them and proceeds on this dangerous hike. We see him being as cold and rude to the hive-minded people as Carol was in the previous episodes. At one point, Manousos stumbles and impales himself on the deadly chunga palm, making it one of the bloodless, yet gruesome moments of this episode. The tip of its thorn is infected with poisonous bacteria, which is why Manousos tries to cauterize the wounds with his machete. He is walking through the forest the next morning, but collapses.A hive-minded medic picks up Manousos, and the episode cuts to Carol.Carol's dark decision View this post on Instagram Instagram PostCarol purchased fireworks at the start of the episode. A depressed Carol faces the fallen barrel. However, the rocket fortunately doesn't hit her, but her garage is on fire, which she extinguishes. The next day, she purchases white paint and writes the message "come back" in front of her house.
