Pro Bono Episode 3 recap: David and Gi-ppeum take Kang-hoon's case

Episode 3 of Pro Bono begins with David being thanked by Byeol's current owner, as the previous owner denied Byeol being her dog. This resulted in O&Partners gaining the attention of the public and Jung-in and David being interviewed by the media.

David's interview gets the team their next client- Kang-hoon. The 12-year-old boy was disabled below the waist and wanted David to take his case. He wanted to file a case against God for his condition. David tries to make the boy and his team understand that there cannot be a case like this where Kang-hoon would win. However, it is later seen that not just Gi-ppeum but David was trying to find a way for the boy to win the case and learn about the hospital where he was born.

With more information provided by Kang-hoon's mother, Saet-byeol, the team learn that she was an orphan who ran away and was living a tragic life with alcohol addiction and got pregnant when she was only sixteen. She tried to abort, but the hospital convinced her otherwise and did not even provide the care she needed, and the ultrasounds that would have depicted the condition of the unborn child.

However, even with a specially-abled judge in the case, they did not win. The judge shared that, according to the Constitution, all lives are precious and have a right to exist; therefore, Kang-hoon's case is dismissed.

Pro Bono Episode 3 recap: David suspects his former secretary of sabotaging his career

Episode 3 of the K-drama also showed David trying to find the man who gave him the box of cash by disguising himself as his childhood friend, as he still wasn't sure how he learned about his childhood crush. He was then provided with the man's call logs through which he learned how often he was contacted from his previous office.

This resulted in him suspecting his secretary, and he ordered a man to spy on her to find out who she meets and where she goes. Furthermore, the episode also gave us a glimpse of how Gi-ppeum became an attorney. The Episode revealed that it all started when David was the judge in her father's case, and he ruled in their favour. Gi-ppeum wanted to become an attorney to help people and ended up in the Pro Bono team.

Therefore, she wanted to take Kang-hoon's case. However, after the case was dismissed, they all thought it was impossible to win until David came up with another plan. He dragged the hospital's owner and his religious beliefs in convincing the court that his hospital was trying to force women, irrespective of their condition, to give birth.

In the upcoming episode, David will try to build a case that would help Kang-hoon win his case against the hospital and also get compensation from them, which would make his and his mother's lives easier.
