What happened in Pro Bono Episode 2?

Episode 2 of Pro Bono followed Kang David's efforts to win his first case to bring the success rate of the Pro Bono team to 70%. However, that would not be as easy as the cases are anything but straightforward and have numerous obstacles, starting with his own clients hiding the truth.

In the episode, he learns that Byeol's previous owner has hired Myeong-hun, an attorney who can resort to illegal activities to win cases, making their case more difficult as they learn that he has found a witness who saw So-yeon throw away Byeol's collar. While it was a fake witness, David discovers that So-yeon might have really thrown away the collar and asks her to tell everyone the truth.

This results in everyone learning that Byeol was being tortured by her previous owner, as she had put a high-voltage shock collar on the dog, which would choke her every time Byeol tried to bark. From bringing a former judge as an attorney in the case to making it a jury trial, David tried to do everything to win the case.

In the end, he called the owner's father, who ordered her to dismiss the case as it would affect his political career ahead of the elections, making David win the case as she refused to admit that Byeol was her dog. At the end of the episode, it is also revealed that Jung-in knows the scammer who gave the box full of cash to David in the premiere episode, which destroyed his career.

The K-drama will return on December 13, 2025, with a new and unique case where a child would want to file a case against God.
