Pro Bono Episode 4 recap: Myeong-hun questions Gang-hun's mother

In Episode 4 of Pro Bono, David makes Gang-hun appear in front of the press to gain the attention of the public. However, this doesn't end well at home as his mother scolds him for it and confronts him about wanting to be adopted. The episode showcases the tragic past of Gang-hun's mother, who was left in an orphanage by her mother.

Later, she is also questioned by Myeong-hun in court, where he puts the blame on him for her son not being happy and struggling. He even asks her whether she was unhappy about Gang-hun's birth, to which Gang-hun's mother denies. This moment resulted in Gang-hun's mother trying to jump off a bridge, but is saved by David and his team's plan.

In retaliation, David then demands that Woongsan's Chairman come to court for questioning and also an on-site inspection by the judge and Myeong-hun, who previously debated about the right to life for everyone, even with someone with a difficulty like Gang-hun.

Pro Bono Episode 4 recap: Chairman Choi finds an unexpected way to help Gang-hun

Apart from the emotional moments of the latest episode of Pro Bono, there were also several hilarious moments, such as Myeong-hun and the judge doing an on-site inspection. They had to travel to the court in a wheelchair with their legs strapped, as Gang-hun cannot use his legs.

While they kept saying it wasn't as difficult, it was clear from their faces how struggling their experience was. Later, when Chairman Choi came to the court, David questioned him about his pro-life beliefs and how they had impacted Gang-hun and his mother's life.

Later, Gang-hun asked if he could question the Chairman himself, to which the court agreed. Gang-hun told him about how he became the most hated boy in his class after he developed a crush on a girl, and couldn't go to school anymore. He also told him that the special school is too far from his home, so he couldn't go there either.

Chairman Choi also sees how Gang-hun's mother was begging in front of the people of her community to let them build a special school there. He later, in the court, reveals that he knows all of Gang-hun's secrets and is one of the players from the online Go game where he has been trying to defeat Gang-hun, but couldn't. In a surprising move, Choi announces that he wanted to adopt not Gang-hun but his mother, who was the same age as his son if he had been alive, and vowed to make Gang-hun's life worth living.

In the episode, David also learned that his senior from the former office might also be involved in sabotaging his career and making him start from scratch.
