Netflix’s Resident Playbook came to an end this weekend with the release of episode 12 on a hopeful note for the first-year residents of Yulje Medical Center. The spinoff series of Hospital Playlist premiered in April 2025 and quickly became one of the most popular K-dramas.
Resident Playbook starred many up-and-coming actors, such as Go Youn-jung, Kang You-seok, Han Ye-ji, and Shin Si-ah, as the first-year OB-GYN residents. After winning hearts with her role as Oh Yi-young, Youn-jung will next take up the role of a South Korean actress, Cha Mu-hee, in the upcoming Netflix rom-com, Can This Love be Translated?
The series is written by the popular writing duo, Hong Sisters, making this Youn-jung’s second collaboration with the writers after Alchemy of Souls.

Go Youn-jung’s character Yi-young was not the most optimistic resident in Resident Playbook as she often almost quit her job at the face of even a small difficult situation. As the show progressed, we got to see Yi-young’s change of heart not just toward her job as a doctor but also finding love in the process.
Youn-jung has become one of the most celebrated Korean actresses over the last couple of years due to her unmissable presence on screen. From playing an elite warrior in Alchemy of Souls to a high school student with healing powers to an unmotivated first-year resident in Resident Playbook, Youn-jung stood out in all the roles and even earned accolades for her performances.
She is set to appear next in another Netflix K-drama, Can This Love be Translated? written by the renowned Hong Sisters, who also wrote Alchemy of Souls, another popular K-drama starring Youn-jung. They are also known for writing several popular series, such as Hotel del Luna, starring K-pop star IU, and My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho.
Other than Youn-jung, Can This Love be Translated? also stars Kim Seon-ho from When Life Gives You Tangerines, who played Chung-seob in the acclaimed drama. The K-drama will follow Youn-jung’s Cha Mu-hee, a popular Korean actress, who crosses paths with Seon-ho’s Ju Ho-jin, a multilingual interpreter who begins working for her. The rom-com will depict how, despite their different personalities and thoughts, the two gradually get closer.
The synopsis of the K-drama reads:
"A master interpreter faces his toughest task yet: unraveling the whimsical heart of a celebrity. Can he translate emotions into the language of love?"
Although the release date has not been revealed yet but it is expected to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2025 on Netflix.
