Since the very first episode, the Korean thriller series S Line sparked curiosity among viewers. The story is set in a world where red lines above people's heads expose how many times they have had an intimate relationship.
However, not everyone had the power to see them until the finale. In the last episode of S Line, the entire world got the ability to see the red lines above each other, thanks to the mastermind, Lee Kyung-jin.
Yes, you read that right. The finale revealed that the real culprit is none other than Lee Kyung-jin, a seemingly ordinary high school teacher who was secretly pulling the strings all along. She is the one who created the mysterious glasses that allowed people to see red lines, revealing who someone had slept with.
As for Seon-a, she survived and regained her consciousness. And the one who pushed her off the roof was Kyung-jin. It is also revealed that Seon-a was s*xually abused by her own grandfather, as Ji-wook saw her line pointed towards the old man.

S Line ending explained: School teacher Lee Kyung-jin is the main villain

The finale of S Line revealed that Lee Kyung-jin, a high school teacher and Seon-a's home room teacher, is behind those terrifying red lines. What started as curiosity soon becomes deadly. Some begin killing their partners, hoping that by removing them, the red lines would vanish.
These acts spiral into cult-like behavior, with Kyung-jin at the center of it all. She doesn't just observe. She controls and manipulates the madness she unleashes. Meanwhile, Shin Hyun-heup, who can see the lines without glasses, finds herself caught in her twisted plan.
Unlike others, her gift is natural. But that only makes Hyun-heup more of a threat to her. Later in the S Line finale, Kyung-jin traps Shin in an illusion, where she discovers how deep the damage runs. The cult he finds isn’t just loyal to the villain. They are all broken people who wish to become clean as before.
During Hyun-heup's confrontation with Kyung-jin, she meets her mother, who was part of that group of people, and apologizes to her daughter for abandoning her. Soon, Kyung-jin reveals that she has been waiting for her seventeenth birthday to kill her and let the entire world witness each other's deep secrets.
While Hyun-heup tried to fight back, she ended up getting stabbed by Kyung-jin. Her blood forms tiny drops that go up and transform into a giant red ball. As seen in Episode 6 of S Line, that ball soon bursts in a flash, and suddenly, red lines aren’t hidden anymore.
Everyone, everywhere, can now see each other’s intimate connections with no glasses needed. This moment shatters the balance of society. Private lives are laid bare. People can't hide their pasts, and relationships unravel in real time.

The shocking truth behind Seon-a's red line in S Line

While chaos spreads across the world, Detective Han Ji-wook uncovers a nightmare of his own. He learns that his father is connected to his own niece by a red line. Before Kyung-jin confronted Hyun-heup, she slayed Ji-wook's father in front of him.
Despite being a detective, Ji-wook was completely helpless. He lost his father, but also learned that the same man assaulted his granddaughter. This also explains why Seon-a used to mention that she would kill that demon, who was none other than her grandfather.
At the end of the S Line, Seon-a remains without any road line above her head, while her uncle is still the same. Since the truth is out in the open, everyone in the world has started to hide their faces using helmets or masks. This is the damage that Lee Kyung-jin is responsible for.
Even when the entire world changed, Hyun-heup still remains lonely

Hyun-heup was devastated by the death of her classmate, with whom she slept and loved. She mentions being cursed and says that anyone who stays with her will eventually die or end up miserable. She fought with Kyung-jin until the very end, and even stabbed her, thinking this might be her end. But the damage was already done, and now the world has to face it.
What is truly heartbreaking is that all she ever wanted was to feel normal, like everyone else. But now that the entire world can see the S lines too, she finally blends in. And yet, this twisted version of "normal" isn’t what she wished for at all.
During the final moments, Hyun-heup is once again alone and visits Jun-seon's grave. She suddenly starts hearing someone calling her name, and it is none other than the ever-villainous Lee Kyung-jin.
It is clear her story isn’t over, and the world may not have seen the worst yet. Though no sequel is confirmed by the makers or Wavve, the door is wide open for S Line Season 2.
