Lena Dunham and Jeremy O. Harris' next venture together is revealed to be Sex Act, a series they are attached to for Netflix. As per Deadline, American Horror Story's Sarah Paulson is being eyed to star in the show. Raffi Donatich will create the Netflix series.
Deadline further shared that the Netflix series will follow the unique story of an intimacy coordinator who has never been kissed in real life. Dunham and Jeremy O.Harris are revealed to be producing the show.
Paulson, Dunham, and Netflix have not made any official comment on developing Sex Act yet.
More details about the show are yet to be revealed.
Sex Act: Sarah Paulson might star in Lena Dunham and Jeremy O. Harris’s latest series
According to Deadline, Donatich, who had been gaining praise for her show Poetic Justice, which recently screened at TIFF, approached Harris’s production house, bb², to pitch Sex Act. She has previously worked with Harris in Daddy and Slave Play.
The project was then taken to Dunham’s Good Thing Going, and they both approached the American Horror Story star via letter. Dunham’s company made the deal with Netflix for Donatich’s new series.
It is also reported that Donatich will write the script while Harris and Dunham, along with Josh Godfrey and Michael P. Cohen, will executive produce Sex Act for bb² and Good Thing Going, respectively. Furthermore, it is also revealed that Lena Dunham is likely to direct the show.
With the trio's attachment, along with Sarah Paulson, the premise of the show suggests that it would be a clever, cutting, and unconventional path to create an intriguing narrative. The narrative suggests that it will follow the story of an intimacy coordinator, whose job is to choreograph intimate scenes on screen, but she hasn’t even kissed in her real life.
As the series is still in the development phase, a release date has not been shared yet. The confirmation of Paulson officially being a part of the show might be shared soon.
