The newly released trailer for Squid Game Season 3, unveiled at Netflix's Tudum 2025 event, has heightened fans' anticipation for the final season even further.
While it looks like Gi-hun will reach the final round in the game once more, the stage is set for his showdown with the Front Man in the show's final chapter.
In addition to the body count and Gi-hun's efforts to put an end to these deadly games, there is much anticipation around which games will be featured in Squid Game Season 3.
Since Young-hee appeared as the creepy doll in Season 1, she has become the unofficial mascot for the show and the deadly games.
While each game was uniquely terrifying in its own way, the Red Light, Green Light game became immensely popular, thanks to the overarching creepy robot doll that never misses a movement.
To make things more intense, Season 2 introduced Young-hee's male counterpart, Chul-su in the mid-credits scene, setting the stage for them in Squid Game Season 3.
While fans were speculating which new children's game would feature Young-hee and Chul-su, the newly released trailer might have revealed the newest doll game.
More on this in our story.
What could be the newest doll game in Squid Game Season 3?
The children's games featured in previous seasons, like ddakji, ggong-gi, dalgona, mingle, and many more, went viral on social media, with people recreating and playing them in their own unique ways.
However, the stakes will be increased tenfold as the upcoming chapter will mark the final season of the show.
While everyone was speculating on the new doll game, the newly released trailer provided a better picture. We know that in the game, Young-hee and Chul-su are standing opposite, facing each other, and a light flashes green.
The newly released stills suggest that Squid Game Season 3 will feature a jump rope game involving Young-hee and Chul-su. The classic jump rope game involves two players holding a rope and swinging it in a circular motion, while players have to jump across and make it to the other side.
However, in the deadly Squid Game Season 3 version, it appears that the rope is swinging on a thin railroad track and over a raised platform. The players would have to jump the swinging rope on the track while maintaining their balance, otherwise, they could plummet to their deaths.
This game also makes sense because in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk teased that the games in the upcoming chapter will have an element of height:
''In season 3, I decided to introduce games that could really infuse fear in people with sheer height."
In addition, this is not the first game to feature gravity and height, as Tug of War and Glass Planks game also used the fear of height in Season 1, in which many players plummeted to their deaths, as Dong-hyuk further added:
"In season 1, we had lots of games like Tug of War that really utilized height and the fear that this height gives...''
The creator's comments and Squid Game Season 3's latest trailer all suggest that the game involving the giant dolls is Jump Rope. In addition, since the upcoming chapter will conclude the series, jump rope is a good opportunity to eliminate many players at once, and the Front Man will likely use it to reach the final round soon.
Squid Game Season 3 premieres on Netflix on June 27, 2025.
