Survivor Season 49 Episode 3 Recap: A snake bite, two eliminations, and a water challenge

The latest Survivor Season 49 Episode 3, titled, Lovable Losers, started with the following remaining tribemates:

  • Uli Tribe: Jawan Pitts, Nate Moore, Rizo Velovic, Sage Ahrens-Nichols, Savannah Louie, Shannon Fairweather,
  • Kele Tribe: Alex Moore, Jake Latimer, Jeremiah Ing, Sophi Balerdi,
  • Hina Tribe: Jason Treul, Kristina Mills, Matt Williams, Michelle Chukwujekwu, Sophie Segreti, Steven Ramm.

With a lesser number of participants, Kele Tribe felt that they couldn't "catch a break" as they struggled lack of food, water, and supplies. Apart from that, they were also worried about the upcoming Tribal Council. If they were to be sent there, it wouln't end well. It was because they would have to choose one of their tribemates for the upcoming elimination.

Jeremiah and Sophi were thinking about their tribemate Alex having the idol and the advantage that comes with it. On the other hand, Hina Tribe members had bonded with each other quite well. Later, when Jason suggested they all should work together for Beware Advantage, everyone agreed with him.

Even though everyone agreed to work together, Steven and MC wanted one of themselves to be the one to receive the advantage. Further in the latest Survivor episode, it was MC who found the clue, who then shared it with Steven.

As a result, MC's vote was not going to be counted until Hina Tribe was to lost an Immunity Challenge. Only after that, she would receive the next clue to find the idol and her voting rights.

The episode also featured Uli Tribe's Sage and Jawan lacking connections with fellow participants. While getting to know each other, Sage talked to Shannon about Savannah and Rizo's growing bond. Sage wasn't aware that Shannon was already close with Savannah, who later shared the conversation with her.

Kele Tribe's Jake found two small bites on his foot, which later turned out to be a venomous snake bite. It was a black and white sea krait. However, it was a "dry bite" as doctors later revealed that it was a venomless bite. Even though there was no venom, doctors advised Jake to leave the show and rest.

Later, fellow participants were notified by the show host, Jeff Probst, about Jake's snake bite and elimination. The Survivor episode featured a water challenge where participants had to go through a puzzle and an obstacle course. The first two tribes would win immunity and camp supplies, including, hammocks and more.

Tribemates who participated in the challenge were:

  • Uli Tribe's Sage, Savannah, and Nate,
  • Hina Tribe's Steven, Kristina, and Jason,
  • Kele Tribe's Alex, Jeremiah, and Sophi.

With a good start, Kele and Hina Tribes were leading in the first half of the challenge. However, it resulted in Kele tribe going to the Tribal Council.

After various conversations, pitches, and strategies, Jeremiah was sent home from the show. While leaving, he talked about having seen "so many lows" at Kele Tribe. He added that he was thankful for the experience he gained from the show.
