The recently released October 8, 2025, episode of Survivor Season 49 featured Jake getting medical attention after he was bitten by a snake. The bite wasn't filmed as Jake was sitting on the beach at the time and wasn't aware.
Later, when he spotted two small bites on his foot, he called fellow tribemates Jeremiah and Alex. Soon, they informed the show producers about mysterious bites on Jake's foot. Seeing that, Survivor Season 49's Jake was given immediate medical attention.
While he was being escorted on the stretcher, he talked about having a kid. Later, the doctors revealed that it was a dry bite. Since it was a venomless bite, Jake was safe. Soon, show host Jeff Probst also learned about the situation.
In his exclusive interview with Gold Derby on October 8, 2025, Survivor host Jeff Probst revealed that Jake was given an air emergency transport. He shared more about how the team wanted to share the news about Jake's snake bite with the viewers.
"The decision to show our medical center at base camp was really a result of 'form follows function'. As we were assessing how best to tell the story of Jake's snake bite, we made the decision that we wanted the audience to experience it in the same way we did. That meant showing every step as it unfolded, including taking viewers inside production in a way we've never done in 25 years," shared Jeff Probst.
The latest Survivor Season 49 Episode 3 featured doctors and medical staff treating Jake after he was taken for the treatment. The show host noted that it was "dramatic, emotional, chaotic, and calm." He also talked about Jake getting a dry bite, meaning there was no venom in it.
When asked about the incident, Jeff shared with the cameras:
"Unprecedented moment. We’ve never had anything like this happen where Jake had a Sea Krait bite."
After the medical attention, Jake was sent home. While leaving the CBS show, Jake told his tribemates Sophi, Jeremiah, and Alex that he was hoping for them to make it to the final 3. However, the same episode also resulted in Jeremiah going home. It happened after he was voted off by the participants.
