Survivor Season 49 Episode 4 Recap: Interesting Tribe swap, an immunity challenge, and one castaway going home

The recently aired Survivor Season 49 episode featured the following castaways from Uli, Kele, and Hina Tribes:

  • Uli Tribe: Jawan Pitts, Savannah Louie, Nate Moore, Rizo Velovic, Sage Ahrens-Nichols, Shannon Fairweather,
  • Kele Tribe: Sophi Balerdi, Alex Moore,
  • Hina Tribe: Jason Treul, Michelle Chukwujekwu (MC), Sophie Segreti, Kristina Mills, Matt Williams, Steven Ramm.

On the seventh Day, castaways learned about a tribe swap from the show host. Earlier, fans witnessed one of the participants, Jake, getting bitten by a snake. As a result, he was sent home, and there were only two castaways left in Hina Tribe.

After the tribe swap, Hina Tribe (Yellow) had 4 Uli, 2 from Hina, and 1 Kele castaways, while Kele (Blue) had 4 Hina, 2 Uli, and 1 Kele castaways.

Updated team dynamics on Survivor after the tribe swap:

  • Yellow (Hina): Rizo, Jawan, Nate, Savanah, Matt, Jason, and Sophi (4 Uli, 2 Hina, and 1 Kele),
  • Blue (Kele): Steven Christina, MC, Sophie, Shannon, Sage, and Alex (4 Hina, 2 Uli, and 1 Kele).

Team Yellow went to the beach, where they got the supplies from the Hina Tribe. However, Team Blue had no supplies as they were supposed to have the Kele Tribe's supplies.

While castaways adjusted to the new tribe dynamics, Sophi and Savannah were the only two remaining females. Alex and Shannon tried meditation, but Steven couldn't trust Shannon. Sophi and Nate had a chat about their families and how they missed them. Savannah also talked to Jason and Nate, and they learned more about each other.

For the latest episode's immunity challenge, castaways went through an obstacle course. They were supposed to deliver a cube set.

After delivering them to their respective places, the cubes needed to be stacked on each other. Whichever tribe would complete stacking the cubes would be rewarded with immunity, a reward, and fruits.

Survivor's Kele Tribe started strong in the challenge, followed by Hina Tribe. However, both tribes struggled at the end of the task when the stack got higher. Kele was the first one to finish the stacking and won the immunity challenge. It meant that Hina Tribe would be facing the Tribal Council.

Later in the episode, everyone searched for the idol. After searching it through various spots, Rizo was the one who found it with the map. He kept the Hidden Immunity Idol. He also had a vote for the Tribal Council.

At the Tribal Council, Matt was sent home after the voting. While leaving the CBS show, Matt reflected on his journey. He talked about everyone's trust and how his trust "fell through."

CBS now streams Survivor Season 49 Episode 4.
