CBS released Survivor Season 49 Episode 4 on October 15, 2025. After castaways were divided into the two teams, they went through an immunity challenge.
For that, both teams had to grab wooden cubes from multiple platforms scattered in the water. After that, they had to transport those cubes as the show host instructed them and then arrange them in a single stack.
It was an exciting race against time for both of the tribes. However, as the Hina Tribe took longer, it resulted in the Kele Tribe winning the immunity challenge. They were able to transport their cubes first and also completed their stack before the opposite tribe. As a reward, they received immunity and lots of fruits.
Survivor Season 49 Episode 4: Tribe members go through an immunity challenge after the tribe swap
The latest Survivor Season 49 Episode 4 featured an immunity challenge. It was after new Tribes were formed. For that, new tribe members were divided into two tribes:
- Yellow was Hina Tribe: Nate, Savannah, Matt, Jason, Rizo, Jawan, and Sophi,
- Blue was Kele Tribe: Christina, Steven, MC, Sophie, Shannon, Alex, and Sage.
Soon, the show host revealed the immunity challenge.
"Five members of each tribe would jump into the ocean. They're gonna pull the boat containing the two remaining tribe members to a series of floating platforms. You will collect large wooden cubes," announced the Survivor host.
After collecting the cubes on the shore, one of them would transport ten smaller cubes across a single balance pole. Then the remaining tribe members will use the wooden plank to transport the larger wooden cubes across two balance poles.
After all 20 cubes have been transported, they need to be placed in a single stack.
"First to finish wins immunity, safe from the vote. The tribe that loses will go to the Tribal Council," added Jeff Probst.
Survivor host also revealed the first food reward of the season. It was fruits. While some of the castaways were excited after seeing lots of fruits, a few were disappointed as they were expecting proteins and carbs.
Soon, the immunity challenge started. In the beginning, there was a clash between the two boats. It was when the tribemates were going in the opposite direction to get their cubes. Hina Tribe's Rizzo and Sophi were in one boat while Kele Tribe's Shannon and Sophie were in the other. The rest of the tribemates were pulling the boats.
There were multiple platforms containing different-sized wooden cubes. They were supposed to grab them all. Survivor's Hina Tribemates were leading as they reached the shore before their Kele Tribe. However, after their boat was stuck, the Hina Tribe caught up.
The first participant to carry the first ten cubes from the Hina Tribe was Matt, while the Kele Tribe chose MC. Matt went through multiple attempts as he kept losing his balance. On the other hand, MC was going slowly while keeping her balance on the pole.
The remaining six tribe members got the larger cubes ready to transport through the two-pole balancing. The Kele Tribe was leading after MC was able to get those ten small cubes across before Matt. Later, Hina tribe members also moved forward with their remaining larger cubes.
Survivor's Kele Tribe started stacking their cubes while Hina Tribe was still transporting their cubes across. Soon, the Hina Tribe also started with the stacking. Both tribes faced issues while placing the last few cubes at the top. They tried different strategies, and multiple tribe members going on top of each other. At last, Kele Tribe finished their stack with all the cubes first.
Seeing them finish the challenge first, they were declared the winning tribe. Jeff Probst announced that it was the first victory for the Kele Tribe. He told them that a "giant tray of fruits" would be waiting for them back at their camp. He then talked to the Hina Tribe members about facing the Tribal Council for losing the immunity challenge.
