The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, just like its original series, has quickly gained viewers' attention with its complex and intense storytelling and characters.

The prequel series, which premiered on August 27, 2025, follows events 7 years before Season 1 of the Prime Video action thriller, The Terminal List.

Recently, during an interview with Collider, Chris Pratt talked about the success of the franchise and shared that the authenticity and the unapologetic portrayal of the characters' struggles and the action sequences are the main reasons behind its success.

He shared:

"We have Navi SEALs, Army Rangers. We’re making a show. We are making it authentic. And if you don’t like it, it’s just not for you, and that’s okay. And I think that authenticity has created something that’s actually pretty refreshing in the marketplace right now."

More on this in our story.

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf stars talk about the franchise's success

Chris Pratt plays James Reece in The Terminal List: Dark Wolf and the original Prime Video series. The original 2022 series was among the best shows on Prime Video due to the complex tale of Reece trying to find the main culprit who had killed his family.

At the end of the series, in a shocking twist, it is revealed to him that Ben Edwards, played by Taylor Kitsch, was the one involved in the killings. Reece later avenges the death of his loved ones by killing Edwards. However, Kitsch’s role impressed the fans so much that a prequel series, depicting his life becoming a CIA agent from a Navy SEAL, was created.

The original series, including the prequel, has won over fans for the unapologetic portrayal of the violence, since the show deals with Army and Navy SEALs, and also, complicated characters are one of the main reasons. In the Collider interview, Chris Pratt, accompanied by Taylor Kitsch, addressed the same.

He talked about a particular gory scene from the series that he revealed the studio did not want to put in the show, but they still went with it. The scene later became one of the most popular sequences from the action thriller.

To add to his previous comment, he said:

"The studio didn’t want us to do it, but we did it. And then it turned out to be like the best part, like one of the things that people talk to me the most about. So, I think the idea of going into this thing indifferent to people’s reaction and unapologetically being authentic to who these guys are, I think that set us up to be successful."

Taylor Kitsch also added to the comment by sharing that they were given a lot of creative freedom, which helped them shape the characters.

He said:

"We are given a lot of creative freedom as well in building the characters."

In the same interview, Kitsch was asked if he would want to go back to playing the character if The Terminal List: Dark Wolf were renewed. Kitsch revealed that he would definitely want to play the character again if fans wanted a new season.

He stated:

"Yeah, without a doubt. I’d love to talk about Season 2. It’s up to you guys if we get to go, if the fans want it, but we have an outline that is just one insanely original."

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is now streaming on Prime Video.
