After Fire Country’s success, its spin-off, Sheriff Country, has debuted on CBS. The show revolves around Sheriff Mickey Fox, who investigates crimes in Edgewater while dealing with some personal struggles.

Since the two series are set in the same universe and in the same county, there are going to be multiple crossovers between them. The characters are also interlinked, as Mickey happens to be the maternal aunt of Bode Leone.

Bode has already appeared in the spin-off, and now showrunner Matt Lopez has teased some unexpected crossovers between Sheriff Country and Fire Country. In an interview with Collider, the showrunner teased that multiple characters from the two shows will encounter each other in upcoming episodes. He said:

“As we get deeper into the season, without giving anything away, what becomes very exciting is actually expanding from there, seeing some pairings between the two shows that might not be so obvious.”

During the interview, Matt Lopez added that it is obvious that the Fox and Leone family members will keep meeting each other as they are related. However, there will be some surprise crossovers between the characters of Sheriff Country and Fire Country as well, which the audience might not be expecting. He said:

“We expect Bode and Mickey, but to see Boone cross with someone from Fire Country or Wes cross with someone from Fire Country that he's not related to, that’s the exciting thing about this town of Edgewater and creating this quilt, if you will, between these two shows.”

In the very first episode of Sheriff Country, Bode appears to help out his distressed cousin, Skye, who is Mickey’s daughter. Talking about how the two characters share similar traumas, Lopez stated:

“It’s true. In Skye, he does have someone who is reliving struggles that he is intimately and unfortunately deeply acquainted with. In these early episodes, the Venn diagram of where the two shows overlap is very much centered in the Leone and Fox families that live at the core of this Edgewater universe.”

Fire Country has been on-air for four seasons now and continues to gain traction. The show tells the story of Bode Leone, aka Bode Donovan, a man with a troubled past, who joins the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection after being released from prison.

The series stars Max Thieriot as Bode, Kevin Alejandro as Manuel "Manny" Remy Perez, Jules Latimer as Eve Edwards, Diane Farr as Sharon Leone, Jordan Calloway as Jake Crawford, and Stephanie Arcila as Gabriela Perez, who is making only guest appearances in Season 4.

On the other hand, Sheriff Country premiered on CBS on October 17, 2025, and is off to a great start. The star cast of the police procedural drama includes Morena Baccarin as Mickey Fox, Michele Weaver as Cassidy Campbell, W. Earl Brown as Wes Fox, Christopher Gorham as Travis Fraley, Matt Lauria as Nathan Boone, and Amanda Arcuri as Skye Fraley.

Fire Country and Sheriff Country air new episodes on CBS on Fridays.
