The Amazing Race Season 38 Episode 1 Recap: 13 Teams start the race to win the grand prize and the ultimate title

The Amazing Race Season 38 began with exciting new teams featuring several reality TV stars. This includes:

  1. Hannah Chaddha and Simone Chaddha,
  2. Angela Murray and Lexie Murray,
  3. Izzy Gleicher and Paige Seber,
  4. Jack Baham and Chelsie Baham,
  5. Jack Palumbo and Enzo Palumbo,
  6. Jas Bains and Jag Bains,
  7. Joseph Abdin and Adam Abdin,
  8. Kat Dunn and Alex Romo,
  9. Kristine Bernabe and Rubina Bernabe,
  10. Kyland Young and Taylor Hale,
  11. Megan Turner and Matt Turner,
  12. Natalie Negrotti and Stephanie Negrotti,
  13. Tucker Des Lauriers and Eric Des Lauriers.

The race started in the Netherlands, where teams received instructions for their first task. They had to reach an ice rink using sledges. Winning would earn an Express pass. While going through the task, many contestants missed clues and continued with the challenge. This included Angela-Lexi and Jag-Jas. Later, they had to return to retrieve their clues.

Taylor and Kyland won the Express pass after arriving first at the destination. There was a close competition between Izzy-Paige and Jack-Enzo. They were the last teams to arrive at the finish line. It was Enzo and Jack who came last.

Soon, teams met the show host. Phil asked Kyland and Taylor to choose the team that should get an Express pass. They chose Jag and Jas, as they were the second team to arrive after themselves.

The next task on The Amazing Race was to self-drive and reach the next location, the Port of Volendam. Participants had to deliver 30 stacks of cheese in a traditional Dutch way, wearing the traditional outfits. They had to deliver those stacks to the cheese market. Jag and Jas were the first ones to finish the delivery and got the next clue.

For the roadblock, teams were tasked with finding nine flowers in a large greenhouse. They were supposed to be observant to see it. Additionally, they had to pick the flowers and place them in a box as shown.

While some of the teams were still making their deliveries, Jag-Jas and Tucker-Eric also completed the Roadblock. They were on their way to the Pit Stop, which was Museumplein, Amsterdam.

Jag and Jas were the first team to arrive, followed by Tucker and Eric, and then by Izzy and Paige. Again, in the last position were Enzo and Jack. It was because they kept losing maps and couldn't arrive on time.

Additionally, Kat later realized that she had accidentally kept the scarf from the costume with her. She had to find a way to return it; otherwise, she would face a penalty. The first team to get eliminated from The Amazing Race Season 38 was Enzo and Jack.
