Ethan Hawke, who brings the main character, Lee Raybon, to life, recently talked about working with Greene. The actor said:

"When people pass, there’s this mix of the honor of knowing them and the joy you experience."

Hawke continued:

"But it’s all tinged with the kind of sadness that he doesn’t get to be at this premiere, you know? It’d be so wonderful if he was walking here making everybody laugh."

The Lowdown star mentioned having a bittersweet feeling as Greene is no more. The late actor didn't just contribute to the FX series, but he also made everyone laugh. Greene appears as an old man named Arthur, who was once tricked by the evil ancestor of the Washbergs.

Episode 6 of The Lowdown proves that Betty Jo, the not-so-grieving widow of Dale Washberg, is smarter than Lee thought. She initially said that Dale and Donald Washberg didn't like each other for various reasons, and jealousy was one of them.

He claimed that Dale lived a life that every man would want. His brother Donald had to see him rise and live in his shadows. Was she really speaking the truth? Not at all! Betty Jo wasn't even panicked when Lee accidentally revealed that Dale had left behind a will that could ruin Betty and Donald's lives.

If the will turns up, Betty and Donald will lose their claim to the land. But what made Dale cut them out? Interestingly, episode 6 also reveals the shocking answer to this question. But before that, Betty calls Martin Frank, who happens to be another shady businessman.

Betty called him just to ensure that her power and position remain the same in the Washberg family, even though there's a risk of Dale's will being discovered. And now that Lee is behind it, Betty needs to have a Plan B ready.

Episode 6 of The Lowdown continues, and Lee is still discovering more about Dale Washberg and his supposed connection with a mysterious Native American artist named Chutto. The investigation takes Lee across Tulsa, and he visits every important place, including the Indian store, a community center, and finally an Indian housing project.

Thanks to Deidr, who helps Lee in this quest and tells him that Chutto is a talented artist whose work is also sold at the Indian store. Determined to find Chutto, Lee Raybon learns that he lives in an apartment complex called Whispering Pines. When he arrives at Chutto's house, he meets Arthur (played by Greene).

Arthur is Chutto's elderly grandfather with cognitive issues. When Arthur sees Lee, he mistakes him for Dale, believing that the dead man has returned. Soon, Chutto came back home, only to find that Lee was searching for answers.

He throws him out, and later explains that he met Dale Washberg outside a gay club, and Dale once asked him to make a portrait. They became great friends, and during one conversation, Arthur told Dale a shocking truth about the Washbergs.

Arthur told him that, generations ago, the Washbergs’ ancestor, Nathaniel Washberg, murdered Arthur’s great-grandfather and forged ownership of the Indian Head Hills land by getting the dead man's signature on the deed. This truth not only shocked Dale but also made him feel guilty all the time.

So, Dale secretly wrote a new will giving his share of the land back to Arthur and Chutto. That will is still hidden safely in Arthur’s drawer, and if found, it can change everything. Lee then suggests that Arthur hire a lawyer and claim the land.

However, Chutto refuses. He mentions that Donald Washberg is a wealthy man and would never let him win. So, despite having the right to get their land back, Arthur fears the corrupt governor.

He wants to use the land, Indian Head Hills, as a base for his followers and is secretly funding Donald’s political campaign to gain power. Meanwhile, Frank learns that Mark is planning to keep him out of the deal, and when he confronts him, Mark shows him a place where he has buried people who tried to mess with him.

This was a reminder for Frank that Mark is deadly and crossing him would cost his life. Frank then calls Trip for help, only to realize Trip is the one bankrolling Mark’s extremist operation. He eventually realizes being stuck between two men who won't hesitate to kill him to clear their paths.
