Apple TV+’s The Studio was recently renewed, even before the finale of Season 1 aired on May 21, 2025. The satirical comedy show revolves around the lives of the employees of the Continental Studios, a film production company, and their struggle to stay afloat under the new head, Matt Remick (Seth Rogen), who wants to make blockbuster films.
The news of the renewal of The Studio is an exciting update, and that too given how Season 1 ended on a glorious note. Although nothing about the plot and cast has been revealed yet, Season 2 might premiere in the late 2026 or early 2027, considering the production of the show.
The show offers a satirical take on the Hollywood industry, and quickly became popular for its humorous narrative and performances by a stellar ensemble cast, which includes Katheryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, Catherine O'Hara, and Chase Sui Wonders.

Will there be The Studio Season 2? Details about renewal status, potential release window, and more
As per Deadline, The Studio was renewed for a Season 2 on May 6, 2025. Creators Evan Goldberg and actor Seth Rogen, who plays Remick in the comedy series, shared in a statement how excited they were about the new season. They stated:
"We’re thrilled to be making a second season of ‘The Studio’. We’re looking forward to taking the lived experience of making season one and immediately putting it into season two, then repeating that loop for 10 more seasons."
They continued:
"And, we’re excited to keep all our industry friends and colleagues guessing as to when one of their personal stories will stream on Apple TV+."
Apart from them, the head of programming for Apple TV+, Matt Cherniss, also added to their statement and praised Seth and the cast of the series for their performances. He also talked about the anticipation for Season 2 and what else could be in store for Rogen’s Remick in the next chapter. He said:
"Seth, Evan, and the entire creative team and cast of ‘The Studio’ have knocked it out of the park with this brilliant show, and it has been incredible to watch the conversation grow with each new episode."
He continued:
"We can’t wait to see where Matt Remick takes Continental Studios in season two, and hope for his sake that the ‘Kool-Aid’ movie crushes at the box office."
While we now know that Seth Rogen’s farcical comedy show will be back for a new season, nothing about the cast and plot details has been revealed yet. As the show is filmed on location in LA with an elaborate set, and also uses real houses as filming locations, we might have to wait until 2026 to hear about a potential release window.
More about The Studio
Seth Rogen’s anarchic comedy show brought the behind-the-scenes of production companies and how they create blockbuster films, but in a satirical way. The show ended on a high note with the presentation at the CinemaCon ending successfully, with the hope that the Continental might not be taken over by the tech company. However, we have to wait to know more about the fate of the Continental until Season 2 arrives.
Other than the regular cast of The Studio, acclaimed stars such as Bryan Cranston, Zoe Kravitz, Nicholas Stoller, and a plethora of other Hollywood celebrities graced the show with their cameo appearances.
