Three years after the shocking ending of The Terminal List Season 1, the franchise is returning to the screens with a prequel series, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. The action thriller showcases the origin story of Chief Special Warfare Operator Ben Edwards.
It chronicles how he goes from being a Navy SEAL to a CIA operative. Taylor Kitsch is reprising his role as Ben from the original series and is once again joined by his co-stars Chris Pratt and Tom Hopper.

The release date of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf
The Terminal List: Dark Wolf will premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. The show will feature seven episodes, out of which the first three will be released at the same time on the premiere day. A weekly schedule will then be followed, with one new episode coming out every Wednesday until the finale on September 24, 2025.
The show is a Prime Video exclusive and can only be watched with a subscription. The streaming platform can be availed through an Amazon Prime membership, which costs $14.99 per month. On the other hand, Prime Video can also be accessed with a subscription costing $8.99 per month, without other Amazon benefits.
What to expect from The Terminal List: Dark Wolf?
The show tracks the backstory of Ben Edwards and reveals why he left the Navy SEALs and joined the CIA. Ever since the release of The Terminal List, fans have been interested in Ben’s character due to a twist introduced at the end of the first season.
The prequel is going to showcase what motivated him to make those choices in the original series. Talking about the show, Taylor Kitsch, who plays the lead, revealed in an interview with USA Today:
“This is the origin story. This is the story that gets us to that point. There was so much heat around Edwards with that twist and all these questions about how. You're going to learn a heck of a lot more about who Ben really is and these twists and turns that led to that decision."
The star cast of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf
The show marks the return of several cast members from the original series. Taylor Kitsch returns as Ben Edwards, and Tom Hopper once again plays Lieutenant Raife Hastings. Chris Pratt, who played the lead role of Lieutenant Commander James Reece in the mothership series, reprises his role as a supporting character.
Other cast members include Luke Hemsworth as CIA contractor Jules Landry, Robert Wisdom as CIA spymaster Jed Haverford, Jared Shaw as Alpha Platoon member Ernest "Boozer" Vickers, Dar Salim as ISOF officer Mohammed Farooq, Shiraz Tzarfati as Mossad operator Tal Varon, and Rona-Lee Shimon as Mossad veteran Eliza Perash.
The show has been created by David DiGilio, who created the original series as well. The franchise is based on Jack Carr’s 2018 novel of the same name. Carr has also been credited as the creator of the prequel. The full cast list of Dark Wolf is given below:
